According to reports, the man who sexually assaulted her was spotted before the girl’s jump by the rickshaw workers. The sex attacker had persuaded the young girl to accompany him to the address where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
The workers had first met the girl when they were asking for directions to a nearby building that was still under construction.
The girl was next seen sitting on a narrow ledge four storeys above the street. The rickshaw workers spotted her when one of her slippers fell near them.
They were not sure whether she was intending to take her own life.However, thinking quickly, they used to cloth they were working with, fashioned it into a safety net, and urged her to jump into it.

Later, a police inspector told her rescuers that the girl had reported her jump was a desperate bid to escape from the clutches of the man.
