Shocking! Doctor delivers baby but leave the head inside then sends the mother to another hospital ...photo

A shocking story of alleged medical malpractice is coming out of a hospital in the southern Thai town of Pattalung.
Last Wednesday, October 26th, a 17 year old girl named only as Poo - went in to have a baby at the hospital that was not named. The duty doctor pulled the baby out but its head broke off.
The relatives waited nervously outside the delivery room for a long time. Eventually they were told to take the expectant mother to another hospital. No explanation was given by the duty doctor.

The family took her to another hospital where a suction machine was used. The doctor there discovered that only the head of the baby was in the mothers womb. The body was missing.
Shocked relatives went back to the original hospital to find out what happened. Later it emerged that the duty doctor at the original hospital had pulled the baby out but had decapitated it in the process but said nothing to the relatives.
Daily News further discovered that following the delivery, a public health official had offered the family 400,000 baht in compensation.
The elder sister of the mother posted pictures of the head of the baby on Facebook along with a message saying that they were absolutely shocked, adding that there is no way would they accept compensation without the hospital and doctor accepting responsibility.
The sister said that people went online to say that she was a liar and threats were made to her. She told daily News: "Who in hell would lie about such a thing?"
Relatives of the mother, who is currently recovering from the ordeal in the second hospital, that also was not named, have gone to the government's Damrongtham watchdog group to seek justice.
Meanwhile the local health chief Dr Thanit Sermkaek ordered an investigation into the matter as the hospital said such a thing had never happened before.
Daily News further reported that the doctor who allegedly decapitated the baby had gone on leave.
Relatives said that the baby had been described as normal before the mother went into labour. The torso has been retrieved and the baby sewn back together. Relatives have refused to to take the body for cremation until the matter is sorted out to everyone's satisfaction.

See graphic photos of bodies of dead African migrants wash up on Libyan shores...

On Saturday, October 29th, 11 bodies of dead African migrants washed up on the shores of Janzour, the western suburb of Tripoli and the numbers are on the rise.

The municipal council has called on Libyan authorities to deal with the bodies. Municipal member Abdul-Salam Abu Gharsa said they are confused about what to do with the bodies.

"The Attorney General has issued an order not to receive any bodies at Tripoli hospitals because morgues there are filled with corpses, and here in Janzour we have no morgues," he said.
Same day, several bodies of migrants also washed up on Sabratha beach. In a related development, amid rough seas and bad weather condition that hit the capital on Friday, two Libyan nationals risked their lives to rescue another  group of illegal migrants off the coast of Janzour.

Following an emergency call from the desperate migrants to local authorities, Arebi Aboras and Ahmed Diknah had to battle the waves on jet skis to save the boat that was overloaded with migrants some few kilometres off the shore.

The brave men managed to rescue 8 migrants separately while the rest on board drowned. The survivors are receiving treatment at Janzour hospital now. One of the survivors said they sailed off from Sabratha on Wednesday on three boats; each one was loaded with around 150 migrants. Hours later, they were lost at sea and did not know what to do.

Many were drowned, he said, while their boat was taken away by the waves near the shore, where the two Libyan nationals had found them.

Ford stops exportation of vehicles to Nigeria

Image result for images of cars
There are indications that Ford Motor Company has suspended its planned exportation of 500 units of vehicles meant for the Nigerian market owing to the current economic recession.

The United States automaker was said to have assembled the vehicles in its South African factory and completed all arrangements to ship them to Nigeria before halting the decision.

Prof. Okey Iheduru of the Arizona State University, United States, hinted at a forum in Lagos that Ford had dismantled over 500 units of vehicles meant for the Nigerian market because the Coscharis Group, its local representative, could not accommodate them.

The General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Services, Coscharis Group, Mr. Abiona Babarinde, who confirmed this in an emailed response to Punch’s enquiry, attributed the development to “forex-related issues.”

He said the vehicles were “to be imported as SKD (semi-knocked down) kits for (auto) assembly but got stuck in South Africa because of slow sale of what we already have in stock in Nigeria.”

Ford recently discontinued its business relationship with one of its two partners in Nigeria, RT Briscoe, leaving only Coscharis Motors as its sole representative in the country.

A statement from Ford Motor Company of Sub-Saharan Africa sent via email said tough economic climate arising from the fall in oil prices, foreign exchange shortages and rapid devaluation of the naira was adversely affecting its operation in the region, including Nigeria.

Arrested Supreme Court Justices withdraw from sittings

The two Justices of the Supreme Court, Sylva Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro, who were among judges recently arrested by the Department of State Services on corruption allegations, have voluntarily withdrawn from further participating in the proceedings of the apex court.

The two senior judiciary officers would no longer sit until when they were able to clear their names.

According to Punch's findings, Ngwuta and Okoro had not been sitting since they were released after their arrest along with other serving and compulsorily retired judges between October 7 and 8.

The outgoing Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, disclosed this at a meeting he held with a delegation of the Nigerian Bar Association in his chambers last Thursday.

According to a source, who attended the meeting, the CJN ruled out the call for the suspension of the two justices of the apex court or any of the other arrested judges.

The CJN was said to have told the NBA delegation that the affected Justices of the Supreme Court had, on their own, decided to withdraw from further sittings of the apex court.

The source stated, “The CJN made it clear that the NJC could never have suspended the arrested judges in the absence of any evidence presented by their accusers.

“The CJN said the DSS, which levelled allegations against the judges, had not presented evidence against them to the NJC on which any possibility of suspending them could be based.

“But he said the two affected Justices of the Supreme Court had, on their own, recused (withdrawn) themselves from sitting until when they are able to clear their names."

NBA also said their call is for the judges to recuse themselves, until they're able to clear their names.

Dasuki intends to call Goodluck Jonathan as witness for $2.1b Arms deal

Image result for images of dasuki
Former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki, who is currently on trial for alleged mismanagement of $2.1 billion arms funds, says he intends to invite former President Goodluck Jonathan as his witness.
Jonathan has in the past condemned the charges against Dasuki, claiming that there is no way the ex-NSA could have stolen about $2.2billion funds for arms.

Dr. Jonathan said:
“We bought warships, we bought aircraft, we bought lots of weapons for the army,” he said in a recent interview at the Oxford Union in the United Kingdom.
Speaking with The Nation correspondent, Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), the ex-NSA’s counsel, said Dasuki wanted Jonathan to testify in court on his behalf.
Raji said:
“It will be desirable for Jonathan to testify for the ex-NSA. It will throw greater light into grey areas. And it will serve the interest of Justice. It will be fantastic for him to go to court to testify. Dasuki is an agent of a disclosed and known principal.”
Another member of Dasuki's legal team said:
“With what Jonathan said in London, the only logical thing for him to do is to see it through.
“We want Jonathan to follow-through. If he backs out, it will be bad.” But, in Raji’s view, a political solution will be better than trial because of the “characters involved”. He said: “But, frankly speaking, I pray for a political solution to the problem because of the characters involved.xx
“Both the accused and the government should embrace a political solution to the problem.”
When asked if Dasuki was ready to proffer a political solution, he answered:
“Why not? He is. He added:
”I believe the President is very sincere. He wants to reorganise Nigeria and he deserves the support of all.
“With a political solution, Mr. President will be in good stead to overcome unnecessary distractions in order to succeed. “I pray that everybody will key into his vision and the economic challenges facing the nation.” Those point of advising a political solution is that it will not be “tidy” for Dasuki to mention all those who got money from his office. Among them, said a source, are a prominent traditional ruler in the North, who reportedly got N500 million and a former Head of State. A source, who spoke in confidence, said Dasuki’s defence team was banking on Jonathan’s testimony. The source said: “All is set for the defence of Dasuki, who is still insisting on an open trial to let Nigerians know the beneficiaries of the arms cash.
“One of those who may testify is ex-President Goodluck Jonathan whose remarks in London appeared to be the first phase of the war chest of the ex-NSA.
“You know the ex-NSA said he acted on Jonathan’s instructions in disbursing some of the cash. And from the look of things, the ex-President is now ready to accept responsibility for whatever Dasuki did.
“We believe it has reached a level that Nigerians must know what really happened, how funds were disbursed and who got what. “This is why a secret trial is not a viable option, with the way things are going.”
“So far, we have secured the consent of Jonathan to appear in court for Dasuki. This will make the trial worth it.”
Dasuki had on December 13, 2015 said he disbursed the funds on Jonathan’s instructions.

The ex-NSA said:
“I wish to state as follows: That I have been publicly indicted and any statement may jeopardise my defence. Having been briefed by the EFCC investigators on why I was invited, I will answer the charges in court. As such, I do not wish to make any further statement on the matter.
“That I am aware in November (I cannot remember the exact date), my office requested the CBN to exchange N10billion from the account of the Office of National Security Adviser domiciled in CBN. The money was exchanged at $47m and some Euros which I cannot remember. The exact amount was delivered at my residence.
“The money was for delegates that attended the nomination convention for the PDP. Presidential nomination. The money was paid and sent to Hon. (Waripamowei) Dudafa (SSAP Household) and ADC(C-I-C) for distribution on the instruction of the President.
“Based on the statement of Director of Finance and Administration (Salisu), Ibrahim Wambai, and Yazidu Ibrahim, all the cash (both foreign and local) are usually given to them for official use. “I also noted the statement of Sagir Bafarawa whose company is Dalhatu Investment in which he stated that he received the sum of N4,633,000,000 from the account of the Office of the NSA. I authorised the payment . The money was for vehicles, motorcycles for youth empowerment and women sent to Saudi Arabia. I got the proposal from the President. I do not have the proposal; it should be at the office in the Villa.”

Meet one of the survivors of 2006 ADC plane crash in Abuja which killed 96 people tells his amazing story ...photo

On October 29th, 2006, a Boeing 737 operated by ADC Airlines crashed near the Abuja airport shortly after takeoff, claiming so many lives, including that of the then Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido.

The flight carrying 100 passengers and five crew members departed Lagos to Sokoto with an intermediate stop in Abuja.

Shortly after taking off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the plane crashed, broke up and caught fire in a corn field. 96 people died, including a woman working on the field, who was reportedly killed after being struck by debris from the crash.

The primary cause of the crash was bad weather but the immediate cause was the pilot's refusal to acknowledge warning given to him by the control tower not to take off due to wind shear alert.

Amid the carnage and other people who perished, nine others miraculously survived, Peter Onuka (Pictured above) was of them. Now, exactly ten years after the disaster, he has spoken for the first time about his experience. Taking to his Facebook page yesterday, October 29th, he posted photos from the crash scene, writing:
"Exactly10 years today, I was involved in a plane crash. The plane, a Boeing 737 operated by ADC Airline, was on a passenger flight from Lagos to Sokoto, via Abuja. After a short stop at Nnamdi Azikiwe airport, Abuja, the plane took off again, heading to Sokoto with 100 passengers and 5 crew members. But some seconds or a minute after take-off, the plane began to loose altitude, crashed and burst into flames. The pictures below show the remains of the plane. At least 96 people died in the crash, my heart goes to these people and their families however, out of this wreckage God brought me out alive without serious injuries. How God saved me in this crash I can't explain but I am grateful. Today, I raise an altar of praise to God. please do me a favour if you are reading this, as you take a few seconds to lift a voice of praise and thankgiving to God on my behalf. Thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ"
