A couple in Lagos has been arrested for the death of their 19-year-old housemaid. Mr and Mrs Fortune Stephens, (pictured left) were arrested by Operatives of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) of the Lagos State Police Command for the death of Joy Okom Adole, at their home at number 18 Ogundola street, in the Bariga area of the state. The couple called the police to report that their housemaid had committed suicide at their home on April 20th following a misunderstanding.

According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Police Force, Frank Mba, those arrested are Lawal Mazaje, 40 years from Felele area of Kogi State; Adamu Adamu, 50 years from Jada area of Adamawa State; Mohammed Shehu Usman, 26 years from Illela area of Sokoto State and Auwal Abubakar, 25 years from Shinkafi area of Zamfara State.
