The Nigerian-born Spanish national claimed an extensive resume: head of the Spanish branch of UN Women, politician, detective, author, legal expert, and finance consultant. Ultimately, though, it landed her in trouble.

Police in Spain arrested on Thursday a woman who posed as the president of the Spanish branch of UN Women, requesting funds and giving interviews to the media.

The woman of Nigerian origin with Spanish nationality was detained in Denia on Spain's eastern Mediterranean coast on charges of impersonation and fraud.

The woman allegedly provided online legal courses and solicited "funds to carry out different projects related to the institution she claimed to represent," police said in a statement.

She "participated in conferences and gave interviews in different media," police said.

The investigation began in mid-2018 when the police received a complaint from the New York-based UN Women about a woman posing as the president of UN Women in Spain and the Spanish National Committee of UN Women.

UN Women, a body "dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women," does not have a country office in Spain, according to its website.

After the complaint, there were several communications between the organization and the woman in order to make her understand the illicit actions. She was asked to stop, but refused.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has sent Freedom of Information requests to President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice-President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, 36 state governors and their deputies, urging them to use their good offices to: “provide information on summary of the assets, specifically property and income, contained in your asset declaration forms submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) since your assumption of office.”

The power supply has dropped from 3,993.65 megawatts, MW, to 3,608 MW, indicating a drop of 385.65 MW, because of many challenges, including inadequate gas, poor transmission infrastructure and limited distribution facilities.

In its latest report obtained by Vanguard from the office of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, stated: “On January 2, 2020, average energy sent out was 3,608 MW/Hour (down by 385.65 MW from the previous day). 2,026.5 MW was not generated due to unavailability of gas.”

Joeboy’s Baby is easily one of my favourite songs from 2019. The lyrics are catchy and Joeboy performed it to absolute perfection. But the first time I played it, just when I was processing it, the song ended. At two minutes and forty-six seconds (2:46), Baby is short.

Another Joeboy hit single, Beginning, is even shorter. The song clocks in at two minutes and thirty-eight seconds (2:38). Both songs are in the top 10 of Boomplay’s hot 100 Nigerian songs. Combined, the two songs have accumulated over 5.5 million streams on Spotify alone.

In fact, Baby is Joeboy’s longest song from his last five. The rest are below two minutes and forty seconds. But Joeboy is hardly the only one doing this.
