OMG! Meet the man who carries his heart in a BackPack...Photos

A bodybuilder who suffered heart failure was rushed to hospital for a transplant and now has an artificial heart he carries around in a backpack. Andrew Jones, from Conneticut, first became unwell in 2012 after struggling to breathe during a run. He was horrified when two years later he started to cough up blood and developed a high fever.

In hospital, doctors diagnosed the 26-year-old with cardiomyopathy - a hereditary disease of the heart muscle - and soon he became so weak he couldn't stand, walk or dress himself. A few months later, medics told if he didn't have a transplant immediately he would die. Continue...

As there were no organs available, he was fitted with a pacemaker and an artificial heart - which he now carries around in a bag on his back. Despite his brush with death, he is now back to the gym and said he cries after workouts as he feels so 'thankful to be alive'.
Recalling suffering from heart failure, Mr Jones said: 'It's something I would never want to wish upon my worst enemy.  'You can't breathe, you can't think, you don't eat and you don't sleep. He continued: 'Living with this disease put me in a pattern with depression and physical pain. 'I had to stop working because I wouldn't be able to stand for more than 10 minutes. 'I dreaded going to the kitchen because that meant that I had to go up and down my stairs.

'I couldn't even get dressed without panting and gasping for air my life was falling apart and I just wanted relief.'  But since having the artificial heart implanted he has slowly recovered and is now back to training in the gym. His artificial heart has two tubes that exit the body and are connected to a machine he carries around in a bag. The machine delivers compressed air into the ventricles to allow blood to be pumped through the body.

Shocking..! Boko Haram Fuel Suppliers Nabbed During Operation...photos

Soldiers manning one of the entry checkpoints to the city of Maiduguri Tuesday intercepted a large consignment of petroleum products being ferried by two persons to Boko Haram insurgents in some yet-to-be identified locations, officials said.

The suspects, the driver of the delivery truck, Muhammadu Adamu, and the supplier of the products, Tijjani Gambo, claimed ignorance of the identity of their customers.

Sani Usman, the acting director of Army Public Relations, said regardless of the outcome of investigations into the matter, the suspects had by their actions flouted the ban on transportation of fuel in such large volume within and around the area where counter-insurgency operation is taking place.

“The Quick Reinforcement Force (QRF) of 251 Battalion, 7 Div Gar on routine checks arrested a truck loaded with 25 jerry cans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and other goods cleverly covered and concealed at Molai check point, outskirts of Maiduguri at about 8.00am todayTuesday,” said Mr. Usman in a statement.

“The driver of the vehicle, Muhammadu Adamu, claimed ignorance of the contents of the vehicle and called the owner of the goods, Tijjani Gambo to explain. He too denied supplying terrorists fuel and other items, rather he claimed to be a mere trader that supplies goods to customers in Damboa based on demand.

“However, preliminary investigation revealed that he has been sending PMS and other goods through the same route at regular intervals without an identifiable corresponding recipient in Damboa as alleged. Although investigations are still ongoing, it is suspected that it could be the means through which he had been supplying the terrorists with dire logistics in Sambisa forest. This is more so that there is a ban on the purchase and transportation of petrol in containers such as that within the theatre. “Both suspects and the exhibits have been handed over to Joint Interrogation Centre for further investigations.

“In a related development, a dead body was dropped by an unknown persons and found by Civilian JTF at Ruwan Zafi MM Ali Filling station opposite NNPC Mega Station, along the Mafa-Dikwa road. The deceased whose named was given as Abba Aminu aged between 35-40, was married with 4 children. He was stabbed with a knife on his chest by his assailants. The matter was reported to Jere police Station for further investigation, while the body has been evacuated to University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital mortuary.”

See the heartless Doctor who Rapes Lady Who Came To Him For Abortion...photos

Lack of self-control is a big problem. A doctor allegedly r*ped a lady during an abortion procedure two weeks after same man mastur-bated before her during a physical examination, a court has heard.

According to Tribune 242, after Dr. Gerald Mark Forbes informed the 20yrs old lady she would need a medical examination to work at his clinic in the Bahamas, last February, he was said to have rubbed her vag-ina and started touching himself right in her presence.

But why did she go back to such a man for an abortion?
Two week’s later, the lady went to the same doctor and asked him to terminate her pregnancy, he was accused of r*ping her during the procedure.

The 47-year-old doctor is also said to have given the alleged victim a packet of Methotrexate, a drug used to induce abortions.

The defendant told the police as heard by the Grand Bahama Court that the woman was a ‘friend of a friend’, who worked at his office for two months. He denied the r*pe and indecent assault charge.

But he refused to answer officers when asked about the incident, telling them he ‘had nothing to say’. The court was told that in a WhatsApp exchange that took place after the alleged r*pe, the doctor told the lady he didn’t owe her salary because he had provided her with medication. Both the doctor and the lady staff turned patient are jokers. The trial resumes this Friday in court.

Tragic! Two Sisters Die in Strange Fire in Lagos While Father is in Police Cell...(photos)

Tragedy struck on Tuesday in the Ipaja area of Lagos after two siblings were killed in a fire incident suspected to have been caused by a candle. The sisters – five-year-old Rokibat, and Amirat, three – were burnt to death at their parents’ house on Ifelodun Close, Ajasa Command.

Their mother was said to have hurriedly taken two of their siblings to safety and had returned to carry them when the severity of the inferno kept her back. According to Punch, sympathisers and other residents put out the fire before the arrival of officials of the Lagos State Fire Service who received the alert late and had problem locating the area.

The remains of the victims were said to have been taken away by their relatives. It was gathered that the fire gutted three apartments in the bungalow. A tenant, who did not wish to be identified, said the fire started around 12am. He said, “I don’t know what caused it. What I can say is that around 12am, while I was asleep, my wife suddenly woke up and raised the alarm that our neighbour’s apartment was on fire.

“We later gathered that the woman and her four children were asleep when one of the children, who was in the parlour, screamed that fire was burning. Their mother grabbed him and their last born and took them to safety. “As she attempted to run back to save the two girls who were still asleep, she could not open their iron door. The fire then aggravated and sympathisers had to pull her back. The two girls were burnt to death.”

Sources said the family had been going through hard times, which culminated in the incident. A source explained that the children’s father had been detained in a police cell three days earlier over a contract he failed to execute. He said, “The contract involved N900,000 but he did not carry it out. His client got police to arrest him. The man said he had already bought the materials for the job and he was ready to execute it, but his client insisted on collecting the money, saying he was no longer interested in the job.

"On Monday the man’s wife went to beg the client to release him. She told him that the family was suffering, but he refused. She went to different places to seek help and returned home around 11pm. She was obviously tired and dosed off and when the fire started around 12am, she was unaware. By the time her son woke her up, it was too late.” The victims’ mum said her family did not have inflammable material that could have caused the fire. The Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, confirmed the incident. He said, “The fire affected a bungalow consisting of five apartments. We were not called on time.

“From our investigations, there has not been light in the area for some days now. Some of the residents said it was a candle stick that caused the fire. The woman probably forgot to put it out, which led to the inferno.”

The state Police Commissioner, Murtala Mani, said the police had already commenced investigation into the case and the policemen involved were in detention at the police headquarters in the state.

What a Shameful Act...Police Officer Rap3s A Teenage Girl & Detains Her... see photos

A police inspector attached to Mkpat Enin Police Division in Akwa Ibom State has allegedly r*ped a 15yrs old girl at gunpoint. The victim, an senior secondary student of Community Secondary School in the area, said she was returning from church last Thursday when a police team accosted her.

She explained that the inspector pointed his gun at her, saying if she tried to stop him from touching her he would shoot her.
She said the inspector then led her away from other members of the team to a dark portion of the road. The policeman then forcefully caressed her breasts, saying “smali you possess these types of breasts?”

She added, “After he had forced me to remove my clothes, he ordered me to lie down and open my legs. And what I noticed was that he brought out his p*nis and inserted it into my private part.

“As he was romping over me, he forbade me crying as he threatened to shoot if I open my mouth.

“But when I could not bear the pains any longer as blood was running out of my private part, he took me into the vehicle and drove to the station, where he detained me from Thursday till Saturday.

“It was my uncle, Dr. Ime Stephen that came from Abuja and bailed me out with N10,000,” she said.

Asked of her mother, she told Punch that she did not know her mom, who left her dad when she was a toddler. Her dad on the other hand became paralysed after he fell from a palm tree, and now living with her in her uncle’s house.

Her uncle, Stephen, who said the inspector in question was a prosecutor, explained that he could not believe his eyes when the girl pointed at the policeman as the one who r*ped her from among those who were on duty on that day.

He said, “The inspector for pointing a gun he was given on trust at a girl of 15 before r*ping her, lacks the characters of police officers who are meant to protect lives and property of Nigerians.

“He is a fraud by also taking the girl into the police custody for three days and collected N10,000 as bail sum from the girl’s guardian.

“We call for his dismissal from the force so that he can be prosecuted accordingly.”

Terrrible Act... These Hausa boys attack a Lagos School, beat the Principal and steals N1.5m...(photos)

Pandemonium broke out at the Lagos Schools on Omotoye Estate in the Orile Agege area of Lagos as some hoodlums invaded the school premises on Tuesday. It was learnt that some Hausa teenagers, numbering about 100, stormed the school with machetes and other weapons. They were said to have attacked the school’s principal and a teacher, Uncle John, during a free-for-all which lasted for about two hours.

An eyewitness told Punch that the rampaging youths, aside damaging the school's property, allegedly made away with N1.5m. Policemen from the Elere divison, operatives of the Special Anti-robbery Squad and some members of the Oodua People’s Congress, were said to have repelled the attack as residents fled the area.

It was said that seven of the hoodlums were arrested, while others escaped after the SARS operatives opened fire on them. A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said trouble started when the school finished its valedictory service party on Saturday, but the teenagers refused to leave the school premises.

He said, “They were actually relatives of some of the school-leavers. The valedictory service party ended around 5pm, but they refused to leave. A teacher, Uncle John, tried to force them out. One of them abused the teacher and ran away.

“The teacher, who was embarrassed by the abuse, held one of the Hausa teenagers. There was a struggle between them. As the teacher hit the man, he also fought back and held the teacher by the neck, almost strangulating him.

“The principal, who wanted to settle the fight, was held by the tie by one of the intruders and beaten up. The principal’s brother, who wanted to rescue him, was given a fist blow in the eye.” The Hausa boys damaged about four dozen of the chairs used for the party. Three of them were later apprehended by the school.

Those apprehended were reportedly held hostage in a classroom, while the others wreaked havoc on the school premises. A source told Punch that the apprehended teenagers, however, mobilised more gang members into the community on the telephone.

He said "Those boys had their phones and they started calling friends, who trooped to the school with cutlasses and weapons. Policemen at the school’s gate prevented them from gaining entrance as they shot into the air. The hoodlums, however, grew in number, which overwhelmed the security agents.

“Despite the gunshots, the teenagers refused to go. In fact, while some of them knelt, others prostrated and were begging the police to shoot at them. They were saying, ‘Please shoot us; we want to die’.” It was gathered that some OPC members later came out with weapons and engaged the hoodlums.

The proprietor of the school was reported to have called for reinforcement from SARS operatives, who stormed the community. “The SARS operatives started shooting into the air. They chased the teenagers and arrested seven of them. They also seized their motorcycles and recovered some of the weapons they brought,” another source said.

It was learnt that Hausa leaders had visited the school and held a truce meeting with the management. Proprietor of the school, Chief Yomi Otubela, said it was only a minor disagreement among pupils of the school.

He said, “The issue was about some teenagers who had issues with themselves on where to park their cars. The police that were on duty at the school gate actually mediated. No school property was damaged; nothing happened during our valedictory service.”

But the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the attack, adding that seven suspects had been arrested. Investigation is ongoing.

The police in Lagos have arrested a 36-year-old man, Kennedy Michael, for allegedly impregnating his 16-year-old daughter and procuring abortion for her. The same Mr. Michael is also accused of once poking his finger into the private part of his neighbour 18-month-old baby girl.

Shocking story ...Bishop is Sponsoring Niger Delta Avengers Bombing Pipelines? (photos)

The Police detectives from the Delta State Command have quizzed a Bishop of a new generation church in Warri over allegation of sponsoring the misguided militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers. It was gathered that the bishop (name withheld), hails from Ogbinbiri community of Egbema (Ijaw) Kingdom in the Warri North Council Area of the state and is the bishop of the New Salvation Zion Church of Christ at Igbodu area of the city.

Security sources said the church leader was invited for interrogation following two petitions alleging that he was funding the militant group. The interrogation was conducted at the Warri Area Command of the Delta State Police Command.

An insider told Punch that the clergyman was interrogated from 8am to 8pm last week Wednesday before he was allowed to go and ordered to report the following day for further questioning. A relative of the suspected Bishop confirmed the development to Punch on condition of anonymity.

It was gathered that the petitions also alleged that he was harbouring weapons both in his house and church. The situation led to the search of the Ijaw clergyman’s residence at Bendel Estate in Effurun, Uvwie Council Area of Delta state, and his church building in Igbodu area of Warri.

It was further gathered that IPO in charge of the case led heavily armed policemen, including a team of Explosives Ordinance Detectives to comb the bishop’s house but nothing incriminating was found. When Punch contacted him on the issue on phone, an aide to the bishop who picked simply said, “We are still on the matter. He will call you later,” and he dropped the call.
