Muslim female civil servants in Osun State insist on wearing Hijab for data capturing ...photo

Charms Ltd, a private firm in charge of the ongoing data capturing of Osun State civil servants, has been accused of denying female Muslims their “right to freedom of religion and dressing”.
Some of the female workers, who spoke to Channels TV, alleged that the agency was forcing them to remove their head cover for data capturing.

One of those who claimed to have been a victim said she was asked to open her head which she declined and her refusal to remove the hijab made the agency deny her the right to do the screening.
"I explained to them that I’ve been doing screening and I’ve never been forced to open my hijab," she said.
Another woman who claimed to be a staff of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, LAUTECHTH, stated that she was sent away because she refused to remove her hijab.
"Some sisters complied and they opened their hijab but because I did my National Identity Card and Voters Card, nobody asked me to open my hijab. That is why I refused," she said. "They didn’t attend to me till I left after 5PM on Monday. I think the Governor should call them to order and stop humiliating us."
Another staff of the state government, who simply identified herself as Rahmat, said:
"I don’t know why I would compromise my religion because of mere data capturing that I’ve been doing for a long time. I believed that Chams was appointed by the government to screen and not to humiliate Muslims. I would not take it easy if they insist that I should remove my hijab because I will still go back,"
It was gathered that the LAUTECH Muslim community has taken over the issue as their Chairman reportedly said that they were ready to take up the case officially if the complaints persist.

Meanwhile, the head of Chams Ltd in Osogbo has also promised that the Muslims and others would be allowed to do the capturing without uncovering their hair.

Osinbajo said work still however needs to be done in the campaign against corruption as there are still some Nigerians who believe that when a politician who is their village steals, it is permissible.
“How we communicate what is going on regarding corruption is important. There are still those who think a politician who steals, is some kind of Robin Hood, instead of being vilified. Some people believe that if ‘my kinsman’ steals it is ok” he said

Ugandan man buried with $5,700 to ''bribe God'' when he gets to his destination ...photo

52-year-old Charles Obong, a former public service officer, who died on December 17, 2016, after a long illness was buried with Shs200million ($5,700) with which he'll use to ''bribe God'' when he gets to his destination.

Obong who worked as a senior personnel officer in the ministry of Public Service for 10 years had reportedly left a Will, instructing his wife, Margaret Obong, to deposit huge sums in his coffin. The money was meant to be offered to God so his soul could be redeemed and saved from hell. He also told his siblings, Justin Ngole and Helen Aber, to be witnesses and ensure his wife follows through on his Will.

After Obong was buried in his hometown in Adag-ani Village,  Aromo Sub-county in Lira District, Uganda, his kinsmen found out what had been done and made his wife confess during a family meeting. Obong's siblings Ngole and Aber, also confessed and following orders from the clan chief, Mike Gulu, Obong's corpse was exhumed last Saturday to retrieve the money after which he was reburied on the same day.
It was also gathered during the widow's confession that she had paid a funeral service company to dig open her husband's grave and more money was put in. She also had with her additional Shs180 million which she intended to deposit in the coffin on a later date. After the money buried with the corpse was retrieved, the Shs180million with Ms. Obong was demanded but she refused to hand it over and escaped in her car.
Mr Ngole, the deceased's brother said his elder brother told him he had left Shs6 billion.
"He did not tell me where the money was kept, but his wife had told me on phone prior to Saturday’s incident that she would bring again more Shs300 million to add in the coffin so that my brother could also enjoy. When she was placing the first batch of money, the woman called me to witness it but I could not inform my people. I was afraid they could harm her but I broke the silence after I consulted widely." Ngole said.
It is not clear what sin Obong wanted restitution for but it's been revealed that about Shs257 billion was stolen from the government in a pension scam by senior government officials and Obong was a senior government official prior to his demise.
Reacting to the incident, Rev Joel Agel Awio, an Anglican priest, made it clear that no amount of money can buy eternal life and the only way sins can be forgiven is to repent while still alive.

Tanzanian singer dies after she was brutally beaten by her husband ...photo

A female Tanzanian artiste died last week after she was mercilessly beaten by her husband. Kijakazi Pazi Shaban, who was once a member of Kidedea music group – and known by her stage name Zamzam, died at her home in Musoma.

Her husband, a police officer, Hamad Ally took Shaban’s body to a morgue in Temeke, Dar es Salaam after she succumbed to her injuries.

"Sad news about Zamzam’s death reached us, and we were informed that she died as a result of stomach ulcers." her family said.  "Her husband then said he would bury her in Kilimanjaro area. But as family, we had to know why, and when.

"Zamzam had in the past sent gory photos of her deformed, wounded face to friends, saying she had been cruelly beaten by her husband – and that if anything would happen to her, then her her husband should be held accountable," a source told the country’s newspaper Amani.
Zamzam’s family asked the husband to allow them see their relative’s body before he could bury her in Kilimanjaro, of which he agreed.

Postmortem performed at a Temeke hospital on Zamzam’s body revealed that the singer succumbed to her injuries following a beating. Zamzam’s husband, Hamad Ally, was arrested and is being held at Chang’ombe police station as investigations continue.

Hamad had, after allegedly beating his wife to death, requested his boss Ramadhan Ng’anzi for a van to “take his ailing wife to hospital.”

The police boss now says he was unaware that Hamad had killed his wife, and only thought he was doing him a favour by giving him the van to rush his sickly wife to hospital.

Morocco bans sale of Full-Face Veil?

Morocco has banned the production and sale of full-face Muslim veils apparently for security reasons, according to local media reports.

While there was no official announcement by authorities in the North African nation, the reports said the interior ministry order would take effect this week.

"We have taken the step of completely banning the import, manufacture and marketing of this garment in all the cities and towns of the kingdom," the Le360 news site quoted a high-ranking interior ministry official as saying on Tuesday.

It said the measure appeared to be motivated by security concerns, "since bandits have repeatedly used this garment to perpetrate their crimes".

Most women in Morocco, whose King Mohammed VI favours a moderate version of Islam, prefer the hijab, or headscarf, which does not cover the face.

I don’t have any bank account, Aircraft or Real Estate outside Nigeria – Jonathan

Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, denied media reports that he received bribes in the $1.3billion Oil Prospecting Licence, OPL 245 oil block deal involving Italian oil company, ENI and Royal Dutch Shell of the Netherlands.

According to reports, Italian prosecutors had, in court documents filed last month in Milan, claimed that ENI Chief Executive, Claudio Descalzi, and his predecessor, Paolo Scaroni, met Dr. Jonathan personally to discuss the deal.  They further alleged that Dr. Jonathan and former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, benefited from the $466 million allegedly used to bribe some Nigerian government officials and another $54 million withdrawn by one Abubakar Aliyu, who the prosecutors claimed was Jonathan’s agent.

However, in a statement by Ikechukwu Eze, his media adviser, Dr Jonathan said he did not receive any kick-back or know any Abubakar Aliyu and insisted that his hands are clean over the Malabu deal.

This came as the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, IYC, decried what it described as the sustained persecution of Ijaw people and the Niger-Delta by the present administration and wondered why the Malabu oil deal had been singled out for probe while other oil blocks awarded at the same time and through the same process were left untouched.

The Jonathan statement read: ‘’Our attention has been drawn to news reports published mostly by online media, which suggested, through innuendo, rather than factual evidence, that former President Goodluck Jonathan received kickbacks in the $1.3bn OPL 245 oil block deal involving oil giants ENI and Royal Dutch Shell.

‘’With regards to the publication, we wish to make it clear that former President Jonathan was not accused, indicted or charged for corruptly collecting any monies as kickbacks or bribes from ENI by the Italian authorities or any other law enforcement body the world over.

‘’In the first place, we have to categorically state that the negotiations and transactions for the oil bloc deal pre-date the Presidency of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, which began on May 6, 2010 and ended on May 29, 2015.

‘’It may interest those promoting this false narrative to know that all the documents relating to the transactions, issues and decisions of the Federal Government on the Malabu issue, during the Jonathan administration, are in the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation & Minister of Justice. As President of Nigeria, there is no doubt that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan met with executives of all the oil majors operating in Nigeria and urged them to, among other things, support the growth of the Nigerian oil industry by ramping up their investments and comply with the Local Content Act that he promoted and signed into law.

‘’We, however, wish to state, for emphasis, that at no time did the former President hold private meetings with representatives of ENI to discuss pecuniary issues. All the meetings and discussions former President Jonathan had with ENI, other IOCs and some indigenous operators were conducted officially, and in the presence of relevant Nigerian Government officials, and were done in the best interest of the country.

‘’We make bold to point out that the former President never sent any Abubakar Aliyu, as the innuendoes in the false report suggest, to ENI, the IOCs or any indigenous operator to seek favour or collect any gratification on his behalf.

‘’We will like to point out for the umpteenth time that whether in office or out of office, former President Jonathan does not own any bank account, aircraft or real estate outside Nigeria. Anyone with contrary information is challenged to publicly publish same.

‘’As the President who signed the Freedom of Information Act into law, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan lifted the veil on governance and encouraged transparency knowing that evil breeds in secrecy. It is the opinion of the former President that journalists and media houses should take advantage of this law in their investigative journalism, rather than rely on hearsay. We hope that these clarifications will help guide future reports which should be factual.’’

Man jailed for torturing 20-year-old woman with burning iron and raping her repeatedly for 3 days ...photo

A man who imprisoned a woman in his flat while he raped, brutally beat and tortured her with a burning iron has been jailed for a total of 23 years.

Courtney Hutchinson,32, also known as DVS, force-fed and burnt the 20-year-old woman, made her take scalding showers and savagely beat her before repeatedly raping and telling her she would die.

Hutchinson pleaded guilty to rape and false imprisonment on the second day of his trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, 12 July. He was sentenced on Monday, 9 January and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.

Detective Sergeant Jimi Tele, from Newham police, said: "I would like to praise the bravery and determination of the victim of this truly harrowing ordeal. Her resoluteness in coming forward and working with the police in securing the imprisonment of a truly dangerous offender is worthy of the highest recognition.

"Courtney Hutchinson subjected his victim to the most shocking and repeated levels of violence. It was her determination, in company with the skill of the investigation team, that allowed the full severity of the attack to be revealed and that ultimately led to Hutchinson's arrest and conviction.
"The level of violence he inflicted was so severe it demonstrated his total disregard for the victim as a human being, subjecting her to levels of callousness and danger that are rarely seen. The evidence against him was overwhelming but the fact that he decided to plead guilty, removing further ordeal for the victim, can only be welcomed.

"The victim and the public can be safe in knowing that Hutchinson no longer poses a risk to them as he begins a significant term of imprisonment. Finally, I would like to add that the Metropolitan Police Service is committed to pursuing those who commit violence and particularly those most dangerous offenders. I am conscious that there may be others who have suffered similar violence, whether at the hands of this offender or another, and I would urge them to approach the police."

On Friday, 5 February the woman drove to a flat Hutchinson used in Inverness Mews, E16.
Hutchinson - also known as rapper DVS and as 1ARDA on social media - immediately attacked, punching and kicking her. Afterwards he forced her to eat a meal before going to bed. The following morning Hutchinson became even angrier and repeatedly hit the victim.
He went on to push the legs of a chair into her stomach, drag her around the flat by her hair and whip her repeatedly with a phone charger cable. He pressed a heated iron onto her exposed skin several times before holding it above her face and demanding she burn herself as she pleaded with him to stop.

Hutchinson told the victim she needed to be punished and made her put her hands behind her back while he punched her in the face and throat.
The force of his attack left the woman with 40 injuries, including a fractured eye socket, broken nose, dislocated shoulder, stab wound to the hand and severe burns.

Hutchinson told the victim that she would die the next day. He counted down the hours, telling the victim to call her mother and say goodbye.
He went on to rape her. The following day, Sunday 7 February, Hutchinson continued his assault, also forcing the victim into a hot shower and stamping on her burns.

He filmed her, making her state on camera that she was a bad person. Throughout the entire ordeal he kept her naked while he controlled her every movement. She truly believed she would die.
When the victim finally saw an opportunity to escape, she fled naked into the street. Hutchinson, also naked, ran after her, saying "I have got you now."

A member of the public came to her aid, despite Hutchinson claiming the victim was his wife and everything was OK. Police were called around 23:00hrs. The victim was taken to the Royal London Hospital and continues to receive treatment for the injuries Hutchinson inflicted.

Hutchinson was arrested on Wednesday, 10 February and questioned about the events of that weekend plus a separate incident the victim told police about. On Wednesday, 6 January 2015, he threw a plate at the woman, causing facial injuries.

He was charged and pleaded guilty to GBH with intent at an earlier hearing on Friday, 15 April. His sentence includes this offence. The rapper – best known for songs Hometown and Passion - played Brownie in a gangster film called The Intent. The film was released in July 2016 and also stars grime artists and rappers including Krept and Kronen. In one scene Brownin is seen burning a man with a hot iron – the same form of torture he was to inflict on his victim months later.

The filmmakers have since released a statement apologising to Hutchinson’s victim and condemning his crimes but the film is still available in its original form online.

Hutchinson was arrested on February 10. He pleaded guilty to GBH with intent, rape and false imprisonment despite a Tweet being posted from his Twitter account seemingly proclaiming his innocence. A statement published by the makers of The Intent in July, when Hutchinson pleaded guilty to the crimes, said:

"In light of a recent criminal case surrounding one of the supporting actors from The Intent cast, we would like to release this statement expressing that in no way do we condone the actions and behaviour of the individual or any persons involved.

“Before the production of The Intent commenced, (two years ago - in July 2014) all cast members were vigorously screened with respect to any criminal activity and gang affiliations before being allowed to participate.
"We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the victim of the crime and hope that she makes a speedy recovery. Like most people, we are shocked and appalled by this heinous crime."

Woman watches as her boyfriend rapes, tortures, posions and strangles her 14 year old daughter to death ...photo

In what can only be described as a sick, twisted act, a mother in order to fulfil a fantasy she and her boyfriend shared, killed her 14-year-old adopted daughter in her home in Abington, Pennsylvania, USA.

Sara Packer watched as her boyfriend, Jacob Sullivan, raped her daughter, Grace Packer. Afterwards, the couple went on to beat the teenager and poisoned her.

When Grace survived that up till the following day, she was strangled and to cover their tracks, the couple packed Grace’s body with cat litter to hide the decomposing smell and stored it in the attic. They eventually dismembered the body after being scared by a police visit and scattered it in the wilderness where some parts were found by hunters.

For the months following Grace’s death, Sarah kept cashing her daughter's monthly $700 Social Security checks without mentioning the girl's disappearance. When she eventually reported Grace missing, she provided misleading information to investigators which led to her being charged with child endangerment and obstruction.

It was also revealed that Sara Packer without informing the authorities, withdrew Grace and her 12-year-old biological brother, who was also adopted by Sara Packer, from the Abington school district then went on to enrol the boy in a different school in Quakertown, a new district she moved to.

After killing Grace in July and as investigations were ongoing, Sara and Jacob tried to overdose on prescription pills on December 30 but were found by a woman who lived with them and taken to hospital where Jacob was said to have confessed the killing to workers at the hospital.

Sara Packer and Jacob Sullivan appeared in court on Sunday and as they were being led into court, Sullivan reportedly said, “I'm sorry for what I did. It was wrong.”

According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, it was on the morning of July 8. Grace, who had been adopted by Sara Packer, was taken to the attic of a Quakertown house the couple rented.
“Grace was in her pajamas and during the ride fell asleep in the back of Jacob Sullivan's vehicle,” it read.
“When they arrived at the Quakertown residence, they walked Grace into the home where Jacob Sullivan struck Grace in the face several times splitting her lip. Following the physical assault, Jacob Sullivan and Sara Packer took Grace Packer up to the 3rd floor attic of the residence.
He admitted that they discussed him raping Grace before killing her. In the 3rd floor finished attic Jacob Sullivan ripped Grace's pajama top and bit her breasts while Sara Packer watched. Jacob said Sullivan admitted that Sara Packer was sexually aroused witnessing him do this. Jacob Sullivan admitted that he took a Viagra pill prior to attacking Grace in preparation of the rape.
Skipping other details, the report says,
“Grace was conscious during the sexual attack."
She was then poisoned, bound and gagged and left for dead, Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said. Officials allege they dismembered the body in October after being scared by a police visit.
On the evening of Oct. 31, the affidavit says Pennsylvania State Police troopers responded to a report of human remains in Bear Creek Township, Luzerne County.
“Investigators on scene noticed the absence of insect infestation about the torso, indicating that the torso was most likely stored in another location prior to being dumped at this outdoor location, where it was exposed to weather conditions and the elements of nature.”
It continued that a police “canine ‘Cratos’ located additional human remains identified as the arms and legs severed from the found torso.” On Nov. 8, the torso “was positively identified as Grace Packer."
The affidavit described:
"Investigators learned that Grace’s body had been discovered unclothed. No jewelry was found with Grace’s remains despite the fact that her ears were double pierced. She was not covered over to avoid detection.”
It was also determined “due to “no insect infestation upon the torso” that “Grace had been killed and dismembered elsewhere and actually stored somewhere else where insects were not able to infest her remains.”
As for the dismemberment, authorities "found a receipt from the Tractor Supply store in Richland Township. As for the dismemberment, authorities "found a receipt from the Tractor Supply store in Richland Township, Bucks County, Pa., dated October 16, 2016 for a bow saw and two extra blades." Those were not found but authorities "were able to secure video at the Richland Tractor Supply store of Sara Packer buying the aforementioned bow saw and two extra blades."

Sara Packer's ex-husband was charged and jailed for sexually abusing 2 small children in their care in 2010. Few months after he was arrested, they got divorced.

Sara Packer worked as a supervisor for the Northampton County Children, Youth and Families Division for adoptions from 2003 to 2010 before she was suspended, but the reason for the suspension was not revealed.

They are both being held without bail.

Omg! Man beheads his 60-year-old lover in Ghana ...photo

A 32-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly beheaded his lover under a strange circumstance. The man identified as Kisseh Adowah is believed to have decapitated the head of late Korkor Sarah Mormorbi Wormenor, at a village near Kasseh in the Ada District of the Greater Accra Region on Sunday.

Speaking to 3News, the Ada District Police Commander, Supt. Faustina Agyeiwaa Koduah Andoh-Kwofie, who confirmed the brutal incident said that the head of the deceased couldn't be found, adding that the body was going to be sent to the Accra Police Hospital for an autopsy.
'We could not find the head so we are sending the body to the Police hospital.'
According to relatives of the deceased, they said the victim had left for Adowah's home at about 10:30pm on Sunday where they usually spend the night together.

After endlessly waiting upon her return, they became alarmed Monday morning when she did not return by 10:00am and proceeded to the house of Adowah but did not find the two in the room.

They mounted a search for the two leading to the discovery of the decapitated body of the woman in a bush with her head missing.

Father of the alleged murderer who was later arrested in town, told the press correspondent that his son suffered high fever two years ago noting that Adowa once injured him.
