Update! Wife of Jumia delivery man who was murdered in Rivers state cries for justice

Wife of Chukwuma Eleje, the delivery man with Jumia online shop, who was murdered by two men and a woman at the Ada-George area in Port Harcourt in Rivers state on March 25th has cried for out for justice. The father of four had gone to deliver iphones and a motorcycle the suspects had ordered for online when he was killed and his body dumped into a septic tank.

Mrs Eleje who spoke on Port-Harcourt based radio station, Info FM , yesterday March 31st, demanded for justice. According to the wife of the deceased, her husband left home on the day of the incident, promising to return home to be with them. She said she was not aware that her husband had even died until when people began to throng her home to pay her condolence visit.

Mrs Eleje said her husband had promised to come back home to pay their house rent which had been due and they had even been given a one-week ultimatum by their landlord to pay up or be thrown out. She wondered how she would cope with taking care of their children.

Meanwhile the Rivers state police command says the three suspected killers would be arraigned in court soon.

Update! Man Who Defiled 7-Month-Old Step Daughter: "I dreamt I’d become rich by r*ping toddler"

At 57 years old, Magaji Dansale, found himself in police custody for no other reason than allegation of r*ping his 7-month-old step daughter.

But when he was brought before journalists by the Katsina State Police Command on Friday, the reason he gave for r*ping the toddler was shocking.

Dansale said he violated the baby girl because of his desperation to become rich in life.

The petty trader told journalists at the police headquarters in Katsina where he and other suspects were paraded, that he had several dreams in which he became rich once he had s*xual intercourse with a toddler.

The father of six said in Hausa, “I had s*xual intercourse with the baby girl because I saw it in several dreams I had that it was the way for me to become successful in life. I dreamt that all my suffering in life would end. This is why I did it.

“I truly believed that if I had s*xual intercourse with her, all my predicaments would vanish. I would not have to run around to make ends meet anymore.”

Dansale said he married the mother of the baby girl following the death of his first wife who had six children for him.

He however kept mum when asked whether he was remorseful for his action.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Usman Abdullahi, said Dansale would be charged to court soon.

The child is still on admission at the Turai Umar Yar’Aadua Maternity and Children Hospital, Katsina, where she is receiving treatment.

She was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after a referral from General Hospital, Malumfashi, where doctors confirmed that she had suffered critical injury due to the r*pe.

The baby's biological dad, Ibrahim Nuhu, told newsmen at the premises of the hospital in Katsina on Thursday that he had separated from the mother before she married Dansale.

Update! Seun Egbegbe Still In Prison After Court Granted Him Bail?

According to report, movie maker and alleged serial fraudster, Seun Egbegbe is still in the custody of Ikori prison, weeks after court granted him bail in his ongoing theft and fraud case.

The court had granted N5million bail with two sureties at two and half million naira each.

But the conditions attached is that one of the sureties must be a level 16 civil servant. Unfortunate, it appears no senior civil servant is ready to risk his job and stand surety for Seun Egbegbe.

Some of his associates are willing to pool resources to meet the N5m stipulation and also willing to go extra length of putting property at risk as land owner, but no level 16 civil servant.

One source disclosed that, “The problem is getting the level 16 civil servant to stand surety….it is proving a herculean task.”

Seun Egbegbe, accused of N40.647million fraud by thirty two bureau de change men, is in custody as the cases against him – alleged iPhones theft and Dollar fraud – progress in court.

Nigerian Auto Part Dealer Vomits 94 Wraps Of Heroin

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said a suspected drug trafficker apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos has vomited 94 wraps of heroin.

The suspect, 37-year-old Nnaemeka Chinedu, an auto parts dealer in Lagos, was arrested during the screening of passengers on a Rwanda Airline from Uganda.

Shortly after he was placed under observation, he vomited the narcotics weighing 1.59kg.

According to the spokesperson for the agency, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, this is one of the largest quantities of drugs ingested by a drug suspect arrested at the Lagos airport in recent times.

Chinedu said he was paid N450,000 for smuggling the drug.

“I was desperate. This is my first time of smuggling drugs. I have been selling auto parts in Lagos for the past 15 years but things have been very rough with me financially. I was paid in Uganda to smuggle the drugs,” Nnaemeka said.

Also arrested was a 57-year-old jewellery importer, Okonkwo Godwin, who hid 750 grammes of cocaine in his boxer shorts.

He was also arrested at the MMIA during the inward screening of passengers on a South African Airline flight from Brazil.

“The suspects are currently being interrogated for illegally importing narcotics into the country. Okonkwo Godwin was caught with one wrap of cocaine in his boxer shorts and another inside his bag all weighing 750 grammes,” NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba, said.

Godwin told narcotic investigators that he smuggled drugs because of his numerous financial problems.

“I am married with two children and I am in a terrible financial crisis. I used to import jewellery for sale at the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos and Onitsha main market. Things have changed so drastically that l even find it difficult to feed my family. This was what led me into drug trafficking. l was given two wraps of cocaine; one was hidden in my boxer shorts while the other was in my luggage. The agreement was for me to sell the drugs and share the proceeds with my partner in Brazil,” Okonkwo told investigators.

The NDLEA Chairman, Col. Muhammad Abdallah (retd.), said that the agency would continue to disappoint the plans of drug traffickers who wish to make money from drug trafficking.

“The NDLEA is working very hard to intercept drugs at all entry points and also arrest every trafficker. Those who intend to enrich themselves with proceeds of drugs will end up in detention. The arrest so far made validates our resolve to address the problem of drug trafficking in the country,” he said.

Prophet Fufeyin: "What I Saw About Apostle Suleman's S*x Scandal"

For few weeks now, there have been accusations and counter accusations against Apostle Johnson Suleiman, which centered on infidelity and squandering of his church funds on Nigerian actresses and some other lady known as Stephenie Otobo.

However, in an exclusive interview with Golden Pearl Media, the Founder and General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Delta State, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, said that Apostle Suleiman is innocent.

He added that before the scandal broke, God already told him about it via multiple revelations.

Fufeyin made this known when he spoke about a forthcoming programme in May when he will be hosting top South African Cleric, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri. Excerpts below:

We learnt of a forthcoming programe in Mercyland. What is it all about?First of all, a day like this is a great day. We look unto God. The bible says that with God all things are possible. Prophet Shepherd Bushiri would be coming to Mercy City in May.
He is a friend in the vineyard of God. And he had been with us when I was coming up. He started with me and commissioned Mercy City you have seen and heard. He came last here three years ago. I have even visited him and it is now time for him to come to Nigeria again.

What should we expect? It is not going to be any different from what it has been because we are both called to work in one body of Christ in order to win souls for God. We are going to win souls for God. The people that are in captivity would be set free through Jesus Christ. The programme is between May 4 and 8.

What about the annual programme for women seeking for fruit of the womb, ‘I Must Carry My Samuel’?We just finished the programme. It was for three days. Many people from all over the world trooped in and even that time when the programme was going on, pregnant women were given births and we were also giving them free baby gifts and cash of N50,000 as we usually do.

Do you know how many women gave birth?I cannot remember exactly how many of them gave birth but about 380 of them gave birth the last time the programme held.

What is your comment about the way the country is right now?We only need prayers in this country. As I said earlier, with God all things are possible. Nigeria really needs prayer and we have been praying and I believe that God will help us.

All these things that are happening right now are for people to know that the power of God is real and great. We pastors, bishops, prophets etc, are praying to see that peace will reign in this country. I promise you that peace will come in Nigeria.

You said sometimes ago that peace will come if men of God come together and pray. Has it been done already?
There was a time I said if pastors come together and pray all these problems bedeviling this country will disappear. I told you that boko haram will go down and we prayed. Boko haram is gradually fizzling out. Now, the same prayers that we are going to pray will bring peace in Nigeria. Though, all pastors cannot come together because devil is creating confusion in the body of Christ. I told you the other time that politics of nowadays APC and PDP is playing out in the church. Church politics is greater than APC and PDP. If not, just one week we all come together and pray, everything will settle. Devil knows the secret of Christians to cause confusion in the body of Christ. That is what is happening in Christendom today.

What do you make of the challenges Apostle Suleiman is going through?Jesus told his followers that whatever thing that he is passing through, his followers will also pass through same situation. They called Jesus our father names. Some said He was using Beelzebub spirit to cast out demons. It is not today that all these things started. These things started in the days of old. It is one of those things. If we are followers of Christ, these things must surely come to us. Not only him but every Christian that is growing; you would have to prepare for these things.

It is getting worse by the day, people are coming out with different stories and evidences?I will still tell you that those allegations are not true. A man of God is a man of God. Though there are stories coming from different places. Till tomorrow I will still say that it is not true. God is still backing him up. But did you hear the one that the mother went to his church to plead for forgiveness? The body of Christ is one. This is a battle between Satan and God. Any Christian that doesn’t know this thing should go and learn more. We have to pray and fast for our Apostle.

Have you spoken with him one on one ever since these things started?Yes. I met him today when we boarded the same flight from Benin to Lagos. I encouraged him. He is not even bothered. I asked him how he feels with this kind of persecution. He said that these things must follow us because we are people that are working in the body of Christ. As far as you are coming up and you are destroying the kingdom of satan through the name, Jesus Christ.

I saw this persecution and I told people that such a thing is coming last year December cross over. I said this thing is coming up and we have to be prayerful. Like my own case, there was an accident. I sent my boys to my village to encourage secondary school students for inter house sports two weeks ago. They went with my Hillux vehicle and on their way back, the vehicle somersaulted thrice and it was raining but glory be to God that nobody was injured.

Now, if something bad had happened to them, I would have been called names. People would say I sent them to my village, Ojobo to use them to get more power or worse things because of the rapid growth of the ministry. If you are a man of God and in the body of Christ you have to pray for other men of God who are victims of situations as this.

What has happened to the pool of Bethesda, is it now functioning?
The contractors are the problem. They have never met up with the target. I have spent a lot. But regardless of so much money that have been spent, it is almost done.

You spoke about the prediction that some pastors will go through persecution, can you throw more light on it?Yes, I said scandals are coming that we should pray. I have even told my church to pray for me and I know God is in control. I said it will happen, and everybody will hear it but God is in control. That is what I told them. It is a scandal. I told them that. You can watch it. It is there. I said it in November, December and Cross over. After the Sunday I said it, on Monday, they accuse Suleman.

Did you tell Apostle Suleiman about the prediction?I did not at that time, it was only now that we met that I told him. When the thing started I did not because many atimes, we don’t talk every second, every hour. We are always busy. Also, it is not everything you see that you talk about. We Apostles, prophets and pastors cancel them ourselves.

Based on what is happened to Apostle Suleman, what have you learnt from it? How have you been able to guild your own territory to avoid such situation?
The experience and what I have learnt from it is the same. We cannot dodge it. No man of God can dodge it except you are not called. Look at the histories of great men of God in Nigeria, you must hear these stories. It is by prayer and God’s mercy. As you are growing, you should prepare yourself for that. Anything can happen. That is why I advise our colleagues in the vineyard of God to pray for our other colleagues. I have read about many of these men of God. They have been accused of different things. Those things are from the kingdom of darkness. We live by God’s grace.

Should apostle Suleiman forgive Stephanie Otobo?I told him and he said that he is a human being that if God can forgive, then who is he not to.
That is what I told my people one day that it is not by deliverance that this Stephanie needs to go through. It is by going to the man of God to plead for forgiveness before any man of God will now pray for her and everything will go well.

71-Year Old Male Nurse Given An MBE By Prince Charles Found Guilty Of S3xually Abusing Children

He was given an MBE in the 2012 Queen's Birthday Honours for his services to the community in Aberdour, Fife, where he worked as a station master.

Now Francis has been warned he faces a jail term when he returns to Dundee Sheriff Court to be sentenced next month.

Three girls - aged 14 to 16 at the time- told a jury that Francis would creep into the girls' dormitory at the home in the night and sexually assault them.

One told how he touched her on the chest under her bedsheets while another said he had touched her genitals under her covers.

A male resident at the home told how he had once run away and got as far as Kirkcaldy where he was picked up by police and taken back.

Francis took him into a laundry room and attacked him as punishment.

Other victims told how Francis slapped them in the face and beat them with a slipper in violent rages.

Francis, 71, of Manse Street, Aberdour, Fife, denied a total of nine charges on indictment.

However, a jury of eight men and seven women took two and a half hours to find him guilty by majority of two offences of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour towards young girls and three assaults.

Chinese Muslims Are Banned From Having Abnormal Beards Or Wearing Veils

China has announced that it is implementing new measures including a ban on 'abnormal' beards in its heavily Muslim region of Xinjiang.

Veils have also been banned in public places along with refusing to watch or listen to state media, as part of the new 'Regulations on Extremisation of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.' China claims that the legal, cultural and religious rights of Muslims in Xinjiang are fully protected.

However many Muslim Uighur people resent increasing restrictions on their culture and religion and complain they are denied economic opportunities amid an influx of Han Chinese into the province.

The new rules posted to news.ts.cn yesterday state: 'Parents should use good moral conduct to influence their children, educate them to revere science, persue culture, uphold ethnic unity and refuse and oppose extremism'.

Workers in public spaces such as stations and airports will be asked to 'dissuade' those who fully cover their bodies including veiling their faces from entering.

They will also be required to report them to the police.

The new rules is set to come into effect today, April 1.

I Order Phones Online, Send My Boys To Rob Delivery Man –Gang Boss Arrested By RRS

On March 7, 2017, members of a notorious gang, which specialise in robbing couriers of online trading stores, shot at an operative of the Rapid Response Squad, Sgt. Garba Kadiri, while attempting to evade arrest at Pretty Street, Iyana School, LASU – Iyana Road.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that through the reports of victims of the gang,  the RRS had tracked down the gang but they shot at the officers before they could be arrested. But on Wednesday, after days of tracking the suspects, operatives of the squad, apprehended four suspects.

The suspects, Wilfred Ehis (30); Bright Eloho (24), Emeka Egbemedu (22) and Olanrewaju Kamilu (33) were arrested at Olamulti Hotel, New Site, Iba, Ojo, Lagos. The leader of the gang, Ehis, claimed to be a Chemical Engineering graduate of University of Benin, Ekpoma, Edo State.

During his interrogation, he told the RRS, “I operate by placing orders online for expensive phones and goods. I request the sellers to make home delivery.

“I would give the seller an address where I know the robbery can be carried out successfully. When I have made the necessary arrangements, I would then call my boys to go to the delivery address and rob the delivery man.

“I didn’t follow them to the robbery scene. It is Nurudeen, alias ‘Onyeabo’ who oversaw the robberies. I know he has a locally made pistol. I am also aware he recruited other boys to join him in the robbery.”

“I always stayed behind in hotels. After the robbery, they sold off the phones and gave me my share of the deal.”

Saturday PUNCH learnt that Nurudeen is still in hiding.

Ehis said the suspect has gone underground since the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad picked up one of his friends last year.

“He sneaks into Lagos mostly at night through the creeks from Ogun State,” he said.

The police believe Ehis has several separate gangs who handle his different operations.

He is also suspected of being involved internet fraud and ATM robbery.

The source added that, Ehis before his arrest stood at different ATM points in Igando, Ojo, Alaba and Apapa to monitor ATM users, who withdrew money. He then alerted his gangs, who usually used motorcycles to trail and rob their victims.

After his arrest, about five victims of the gang from the Computer Village in Ikeja, besieged the RRS headquarters at Alausa, Lagos to give information about how they were robbed.

Two of such victims who came forward on Thursday were Oluwaseyi Sunday and Alabede Habib.

Both of them in separate statement stated that Wilfred Ehis, who pretended to be “Barrister Deji”had sometime in February 2017 requested that expensive phones be delivered to him on two different addresses along the LASU– Iyana Iba Expressway.

The victims were later robbed by three of Ehis’s gang members operating on motorcycles at the delivery addresses

The sellers claimed they lost N800,000 and N450,000 to the robbery.

Items recovered from Ehis when he was arrested were mobile phones such as Tecno, LG 3, iPhone, two wristwatches, a Canon camera EO87D, necklace, Sony laptop, a wrap of Indian hemp and an ash-coloured Altima salon car.
