Shocking! See the INEC staff remanded in prison for collecting N112.4m as bribe during 2015 Presidential election

Justice O. Efreti Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State has ordered that Mrs. Fidelia Omoile , a serving Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) official in Isoko- South Local Government Area of Delta State, be remanded in prison custody following her arraignment on Monday, on a two- count amended charge, bordering on conspiracy and money laundering, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Omoile was docked for allegedly collecting the sum of N112,480,000.00 (One Hundred and Twelve Million, Four Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira), as a bribe during the countdown to the 2015 Presidential election.

She was among the over 100 INEC Officials that allegedly collected part of the $115million (N23bn) disbursed by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison- Madueke, during the countdown to the 2015 presidential election.

Omoile was arrested on 11 April, 2016 following an intelligence received by the EFCC on the activities of some INEC Staff, who allegedly connived with some Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs), in defrauding the Federal Government huge sums of money, running into millions of Naira. She allegedly received N112.4million as bribe during the 2015 general election.

Count one of the charge read:
That you Fidelia Omoile on or about the month of March, 2015 at Asaba within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did Conspire among yourselves to receive cash payment in the sum of N 112,480,000.00 (One Hundred and Twelve Million, Four Hindered and Eighty Thousand Naira only) exceeding the statutory limit without going through a financial institution and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 18 (a) of the Money laundering (Prohibition) Act 2012 as amended and punishable under Section 15 (3) and (4) of the same Act.
Count two of the charge read:
That you Fidelia Omoile on or about the month of March, 2015 at Asaba within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did receive cash payment in the sum of N112,480,000.00 (One Hundred and Twelve Million, Four Hindered and Eighty Thousand Naira only) exceeding the statutory limit without going through a financial institution and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (a) of the Money laundering ( Prohibition) Act 2012 as amended and punishable under Section 16 (b) and (4) of the same Act.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to her.

In view of her plea , prosecution counsel, Sadiq Hussaini, asked for a trial date and sued that the defendant be remanded in prison custody. However, counsel to the defendant, K. O Obamogie, made an oral application for bail of his client and urged the court to grant his prayers. Hussaini opposed his request.

In his ruling, Justice Abang turned down the defendant's application for bail, directing that the application be filed formally. He also adjourned the matter to 6 June, 2017 for hearing and ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison custody pending the determination of her bail.

Shocking! Nigeria's Richest Woman, Folorunsho Alakija, Duped By Her Employee & Sister

EFCC, through its operative, Ganiyu Wasiu, on Monday told an Ikeja Division of the Lagos High Court how one Vincent Ayewah, an employee of the Rose of Sharon Foundation, allegedly connived with his friends and siblings to forge the identity card of the foundation with different names to defraud the organization.

The Rose of Sharon is an organisation founded by Folorunsho Alakija to empower widows as well give scholarships, up to the university, for their children and orphans.

Vincent allegedly forged cheques of the Foundation's Stanbic IBTC Bank Account and got his sister, Miss Florence Ayewah and their friends to cash the forged cheques by presenting them with fake identity cards.

In the course of investigation it was discovered that Vincent used his position to enlist his family members as beneficiaries of the scheme.

Mr. Wasiu said, “A search was conducted in the house and premises of the suspects including one Mr. George who is the maker of the forged identity cards. The forged identity cards and computer used were all recovered.”

Manhunt for Lagos socialite and suspected drug baroness over alleged cocaine trafficking by NDLEA

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it has organised a manhunt for a Lagos socialite and suspected drug baroness wanted in connection with cocaine trafficking.

The suspect, Fumilola Arike Ogbuaya, also known as Arike Fumilola Ogundipe, allegedly was involved in smuggling 1.595kg of cocaine from Murtala Muhammed International Airport to Saudi Arabia in February 2017.

A statement issued by NDLEA spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju said the agency is also investigating Mrs. Ogbuaya’s multi-billion naira assets, allegedly the proceeds of drug sales.

The anti-narcotics agency commenced investigation into Mrs. Ogbuaya after arresting one Odeyemi Omolara Morayo, also known as Ariyo Monsurat Olabisi, for drug trafficking. Investigation into Mr. Morayo implicated Mrs. Ogbuaya, according to the NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport.

He said that the NDLEA then invited the Lagos socialite in for questioning to no avail. NDLEA officers subsequently stormed her Lagos home, but the alleged drug trafficker was nowhere to be found.

“The agency is therefore investigating several landed properties worth several billions of naira traced to Mrs Fumilola Arike Ogbuaya a.k.a. Arike Fumilola Ogundipe in Lagos, Ogun and Osun States,” he said.

“The assets include Arike Plaza, some plots of land, and buildings in strategic locations. The Lagos socialite, who is a distributor of alcoholic drinks, is needed by the NDLEA in an ongoing investigation. She hails from Ilesa, Osun State.”

Impressed with the level of investigation in the ongoing case, NDLEA Chief Executive Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah has vowed to pursue the case to a logical conclusion and to trace all illicit drug proceeds.

"The agency is building capacity for elaborate investigation and this is a test case of pressing beyond a drug mule to the financiers of drug trafficking. We are determined to dislodge drug trafficking cartels and also trace their ill-gotten wealth which must be forfeited to the federal government,” Mr. Abdallah said.

He called on members of the public with information as to the whereabouts of Mrs. Ogbuaya to report to the nearest NDLEA office.

The NDLEA boss noted that asset forfeiture was an important requirement in the NDLEA Act and assured that no stone would be left unturned in the race for the total incapacitation of drug traffickers.
It will be recalled that Odeyemi Omolara Morayo, a 57-year-old grandmother and and textile merchant, at Balogun market, was caught in connection with cocaine smuggling to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. The suspect, who claimed to be going on a pilgrimage to Jedda, Saudi Arabia had all the paraphernalia of a pilgrim save for the narcotic content of her luggage.

NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba explained that the two parcels of white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine were carefully concealed inside her luggage. In his words, "a female passenger, Odeyemi Omolara Morayo with a valid Egypt air ticket from Lagos to Saudi Arabia had been arrested with 1.595kg of cocaine. The cocaine which was concealed in a false bottom  of  her bag was discovered during routine check on passengers at the departure hall. We had to cut the bag open to recover the cocaine because of the way it was neatly concealed. She was immediately arrested and the case is currently under investigation".

In her statement, the suspect said that her friend and customer was the one that introduced her into drug trafficking.

"I am a textile merchant at Balogun market, Lagos. I have two children and my daughter is married with children. Recently, I told my friend that I loved to go on pilgrimage this year and she promised to sponsor my trip. That was how she collected my international passport, processed my travel documents and bought return ticket on Egypt airline. The only favour she requested from me was that I should take a bag to Saudi. She also told me that somebody will collect the bag from me at Jeddah. It was an empty bag so I kept my personal effects inside it. On getting to the airport, officers discovered cocaine inside the bag during search and I was arrested" Omolara stated. She hails from Ogun State.

In his reaction, the Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Col Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah described the suspect's action as condemnable.

"Smuggling cocaine to Saudi Arabia under any guise is condemnable. It is good that she was arrested here because drug trafficking attracts capital punishment in Saudi. Apart from saving her from execution in Saudi, the prompt arrest also protected our country from disrepute. The Agency will not relent in the fight against illicit drug production, trafficking and abuse" Abdallah stated.

Omg! Watch Man hang himself and his 11 months old daughter, on Facebook Live after suspecting his partner of cheating

In what has to be some of the most sickening video footage ever seen on social media, a 21-year-old father, angry after an argument ensued between him and his partner, hanged his 11-month-old daughter on Facebook Live before hanging himself at a deserted building in Phuket, Thailand on Monday, April 24.
In the clip, the young father whose name was withheld tied a rope around his baby daughter's neck and dropped her off the side of a building twice after he suspected his girfriend of cheating on him.

He then climbs over the edge of the abandoned building with a noose around his own neck only to change his mind about taking his own life and drags himself back up.

He then pulls his little girl dressed in pink back up too and lays her on his lap. She is clearly not dead. He ends the live broadcast with the little girl crying.

Moments later the man went live on Facebook again, with the little girl laid flat on her belly crying, facing away from the camera. Her father gives her a drink before lifting her up and dropping her over the edge again. He then climbs over and takes his own life.

According to Thai news reports, the police searched for a deserted building as seen in the clip and eventually found it located near a five-star hotel at Naithon Beach in tambon Choeng Thalay of Thalang district and found the little girl and her father hanging from a beam inside the building.

They had been alerted by the man's partner after friends of the family had watched his live stream.

The distraught mother told police that she had fled the home earlier that morning after the depraved Wuttisan had threatened to kill her. She said he had checked her phone at 3am on Monday, and accused her of having an affair before flying into a jealous rage.

Jiranuch went home later that day and called her boyfriend but could not reach him – before logging on to Facebook and seeing the horrific video.

See Nigerian Man Who Paraded Himself As Ooni of Ife Reveals Many Ladies Want Him And Sends Nudes

A suspected Internet fraudster, Abiodun Joseph, who impersonated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Facebook and duped two Nigerian ladies of various sums of money, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.

The bearded suspect was said to have been arrested on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Ilese, in the Ijebu North East Local Government Area.

Joseph was paraded alongside three armed robbers and kidnappers at the state command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Monday.

The suspect had allegedly duped the ladies, who were based in the United States of America, to the tune of N600,000, which was paid through money transfer.

While parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said Joseph had been using his Facebook and Whatsapp accounts to dupe unsuspecting members of the public.

He said his men got wind of the illicit act of the 26-year-old suspect and swung into action.

He said, “On interrogation, he owned up to the crime and confessed that he defrauded the ladies of N600,000.”

While speaking with Punch Metro, Joseph said he opened the Facebook account in October 2016 to defraud people.

He said he uploaded Ooni’s pictures from the Internet and used them on the Facebook account, adding that in no time, ladies began to send him requests, commenting on his good looks.

Joseph revealed that many ladies sent requests to him that they wanted to be his oloris (wives) thinking he was genuine, adding that he exploited their desperation to defraud some of them.

He said, “I opened the Facebook account in October last year purposely for Internet scam. I knew that Ooni was popular and that was why I uploaded his picture.

“A few days after I opened the Facebook account, many people, mostly ladies, sent friend requests. Many of them said I had good looks and they wanted to be my oloris.

“In our chats, I told them that they have to pay some money for traditional ritual if they are really interested in being the oloris. Two of them in the US fell for the scam and sent some money to me totalling N600,000 through money transfer.

“One sent N350,000 and the second one sent N250,000.

“Some of the ladies were really desperate; some of them sent nude pictures, showing their breasts and private parts (as seen by the Punch reporter from one of the two iPhone 6 seized from the suspect).”

Joseph, however, said one of the ladies who wanted to be oloris demanded that he should buy her a house worth N45m.

The suspect said he told her that she had to pay N5m out of the amount and he would make up the balance.

He said he was still waiting for the N5m when the police swooped on his residence and arrested him.

“I regret my action, most especially using the name and pictures of the Ooni to perpetuate fraud. I seek his forgiveness,” he said.

Wahala dey o! Prostitutes Protest As UK Prepares To Open First S*x Robot Brothel

Human prostitutes have kicked as the United Kingdom prepares to get its first s*x robot brothel.

It has only been a few months since Lumidolls set up its first doll brothel in Barcelona, Spain. But they say they’re already looking for an investor in the UK and this is causing ripples.

The Spanish company says demand for lifelike androids is rising because they are legal (it’s illegal to run a traditional brothel in the UK) and men can “perform any of their s*xual fantasies they do not dare to do with a woman.”

Lumidolls told the Daily Star UK they have commercial agreements with a s*x robot company and are considering the UK market.

A spokesperson said: “We are currently in the process of expanding and looking for franchisees in other countries.”

The firm opened their first venue in Barcelona, where customers could get intimate with “totally realistic” s*x dolls.

The business was forced to shut up shop after a backlash from the city’s real prostitutes.

Now the brothel has reopened in a mystery area, with £67 for half an hour and £83 for an hour.

But not everyone welcomes the new age of the s*x robot. Campaign Against S*x Robots believe the machines encourage men to think of women as objects.
The girls of the night are also complaining that the would lose customers to the robots if allowed.

Court Strikes Out Obanikoro's Application Against EFCC

Image result for images of obanikoro
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has struck out a 100 million Naira suit instituted by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and his family against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over allegations of property seizure.

Justice AbdulAziz Anka held that the suit lacked merit.

The Senator, his wife, his two sons, Gbolahan, Babajide and his daughter-in-law, had dragged the EFCC before the judge over allegations bordering on what they considered a breach of their fundamental rights.

Specifically, the plaintiffs had asked Justice Anka to make a declaration that the forceful seizure of their personal effects by the EFCC amounted to a gross violation of their rihts.

The judge was equally urged to issue an order, setting aside the forceful detention of their property during a raid on June 14, 2016.

They also made a demand for an “unreserved public apology”, as well as the sum of 100 million Naira as general damages from the anti-graft agency.

The Obanikoros also wanted the court to issue an order restraining the anti-graft agency from arresting, detaining or harassing them or entering their premises again to seize their property.

On their part, the EFCC argued that Senator Obanikoro got suspicious payments from the Office of the National Security Adviser through some companies linked to the family.

The anti-graft agency argued that $1,018,000 was transferred from the office of the NSA to Mob Integrated Services on March 18, 2015.

The family through their counsel, Lawal Pedro (SAN), however told the judge that the said documents and property seized by the EFCC had nothing to do with the office of the NSA.

Justice Anka’s ruling subsequently held that the application of the Obanikoros lacked judicial procedure and was incompetent.

He also noted that the applicants’ houses were searched by the EFCC based on search warrants secured by the anti-graft agency from the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court.

The judge further said he could not declare the recovered items as null and void, so as not to foreclose the possibility of the EFCC tendering them as exhibits in imminent criminal cases against the Obanikoros.

He added that if the claimants decide to make a case of breach of their rights, they could do so during the criminal trial.
