6 people have been left dead while 35 were injured, after a twin bomb went off in Biu town Market in Biu LGA, Borno state.Eyewitnesses claim that the first explosion occurred in Biu Market, while the second explosion hit close to the market around 11:30a.m today.
Though no one has taken responsibility over the blast, however the State’s Police spokesperson said;
“Two female suicide bombers infiltrated and gained entry into Biu,” a local police spokesman said. “One of the bombers detonated an IED (improvised explosive device) strapped to her body within Biu’s main market, while the other one detonated outside the market square”.
Victims of the bomb blast have been taken to Biu General Hospital.
