The Police has arrested the Stanbic Bank staff, Martha Amakye, who allegedly defrauded the bank’s customers to the tune of about N65million (GHc900,000) ..She was arrested at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region based on a tip-off.
The 33-year old lady who was outsourced to work at the Tema Community One branch of Stanbic Bank took monies from customers with the promise of investing it in high-yielding fixed deposits. She was declared wanted by the Ghana Police Service after she absconded.
She was enjoying the money, living like a "big girl" until she was eventually caught.
