Danry Vasquez, a professional baseball player, has been dropped by his team after horrific CCTV footage shows him repeatedly hitting his girlfriend in a violent attack.
Footage released by police in Corpus Christi, Texas, shows Vasquez attacking the woman on a staircase in Whataburger Field.
In the disturbing video which took place in 2016, the woman is knocked to the floor as the 24-year-old hits her and pulls her hair.
Vasquez, an outfielder, was spared a jail sentence for the crime and the case against him was dismissed after he completed the terms of a plea deal. This included taking classes and paying a fine.

His girlfriend also refused to press charges and they are now engaged . However, the Venezuelan national has been released by his current team, the Lancaster Barnstormers of Pennsylvania, since the footage emerged.
Vasquez was a player for the Corpus Christi Hooks at the time of the incident. He was released by the Astros and suspended indefinitely by Major League Baseball when he was arrested.
