CRISIS: We won’t go to war with Aladja —ISABA MONARCH
ASABA—THE Pere of Isaba Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State, HRM Donokoromo II, has promised that his people wili never go to war with the people of Aladja community in Udu Local Government Area of the state, no matter the provocation, insisting that they were brothers and will remain brothers. The monarch made the promise when members of the panel of inquiry on the demarcation and survey of the boundary between Udu and Warri South councils as well as demarcation of the extent of land in dispute between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh led by Prof. Abednego Ekoko, visited him in his palace. Holding that they would not fight with Aladja people because of their age long relationship, he said: “Needless wars that will claim human lives will not do us any good. So let us stop all these nonsense. Let us settle. The land we are fighting for, we will all leave and die.” Donokoromo II who decried the recent crisis between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh, said he was still at a loss on why the people of Aladja could allegedly damage his personal SUV worth over N10 million given to him by the Delta State Government without any provocation from his subjects. Pleading for calm, he insisted that both communities depend on one another for survival. He said that his mother was from Aladja and called on those who were afraid to go to their farms for fear of reprisal attack to feel free to go about their businesses. He added that Isaba people have no intention of attacking Aladja people.
