Japan's prime minister has voiced confidence in Donald Trump's leadership after becoming the first foreign leader to meet the US president-elect.

Thursday's meeting at the Trump Tower in New York City came amid nervousness among Japan's leaders about the future strength of an alliance that is core to the country's diplomacy and security.

After the 90-minute conversation, Shinzo Abe said: "The talks made me feel sure that we can build a relationship of trust."

But he would not disclose specifics of the conversation because the talks were unofficial.

Abe and other Asian leaders were alarmed at Trump's pledge during his campaign to make allies pay more for help from US forces, his suggestion that Japan should acquire its own nuclear weapons and his staunch opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal.

Describing his conversation as "candid" and held in a "warm atmosphere", Abe said: "Alliances cannot function without trust. I am now confident that President-elect Trump is a trustworthy leader."

Graphic photo of a commercial bus driver allegedly killed by police in Kaduna

A commercial bus driver identified as Saminu Bara'u popularly known as Danlami was allegedly killed by a trigger-happy police officer in Maraban Jos, Kaduna State on Tuesday November 15th. Facebook user who shared the story, calling for justice, wrote;
"The incidence occurred around 8pm of Tuesday 15th November 2016 while the victim was seated outside his residence in Maraban Jos when a team of police stormed the area in the name of patrol. Having fractured his leg and being innocent, Danlami remain seated as the police arrived.
One Police Officer nicknamed KURA (literarilly mean Hyena) ordered Danlami to stand up and run before he shoots him, which he calmly replied that he cannot run because his leg is fractured displaying his crutches. Unfortunately for Danlami, the barbaric KURA shot him to dead (the pic). Immediately after he shot Danlami, angry youths descended on KURA and were about to take jungle justice on him. It took the intervention of some respected elders and a human right activist (name with-held) to rescue him. The case has since been filed at Unguwan Sunusi Police Station and we learnt that KURA was transferred to State CID. Our fear is the usual, we don't want the case dead at arrival just because a Police Officer involved. Let us stand up for justice! Let us think of his wife and 3 kids! The State Government should do something!! The IGP should ensure KURA is brought to book!!! Keep sharing until justice is done. All we want is #Justice4Danlami......... May his soul rest in peace.

A female student arrested for arranging her own kidnap to extort N6m from her parents ...photo

A female student of Imo State University (IMSU) tried to punish her allegedly stingy and rich parents by extorting money from them after she planned her own kidnap.

The state police command paraded the young lady for allegedly arranging her kidnap. The suspect, who gave her name as Chiwendu Udensi, however, told reporters that she is Miss Jennet Okoro. She said she is from Imo State.

Also paraded were the three men that perfected her kidnap.

The police commissioner said Chiwundu plotted her kidnap and demanded N6million ransom from her parents.

He said she was, however, exposed when she sent one of her accomplices to pick the ransom on Obiri Ikerre flyover at Obio/Akpor.

Odesanya said: “On November 6 about 4pm, Chinwendu Udensi, a female student of Imo State University, was kidnapped by gunmen in Imo State.

“The kidnappers called and demanded N6million ransom. Men of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit led by Ben Igweh set a bait for them and as they went to pick the money on Obiri Ikwerre flyover in company of the victim, they were arrested.

“It was later discovered that the victim connived with them and arranged her kidnap to extort money from her parents.”

In an interview with reporters, she said she did it to get money from her wealthy but stingy father.

Her words: “Nothing much happened. I wanted to collect money from my family, so I faked my kidnap. I did it to continue my schooling.”

Asked if her parents did not take care of her, she answered in the affirmative.

Regretting her action, Chinwendu said: “I’m not happy about my present condition because I never thought it will be like this. I sincerely apologise to my family for the trauma I might have caused them in a bid to extort money from them for my project and other requirements..."

A judge on Thursday, agreed with Bobby Brown that his daughter was a star in the making and had unlimited earning potential and issued the ruling. Bobby told the court:

"She was an entertainer. If you were around her all could do was laugh. She told a lot of jokes,"  "She was always the life of the party... She was the life of anywhere she went. Anybody she was around definitely enjoyed her company." "I know she had the talent to be successful."
Adding that he believed that Nick was responsible for her death.

Nick was not present in court and hadn't been through the course of the wrongful death trial.

The judge broke down the high dollar amount, awarding $15 million for her net worth and future potential income. He also awarded $13 million for "pain and suffering." $1.5 million and punitive damages of $250,000 for stealing funds after Bobbi's estate accused Nick of regularly transferring funds from her account to his account, including $11,000 after she'd fallen into the coma on Jan. 31, 2015.
The judge also awarded $1.3 million for physical abuse that Bobbi's estate said he inflicted upon her, as well as a $4.2 million because he was allegedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The estate originally sought $40 million from Nick Gordon.

TMZ reported that the final verdict came after tearful testimony from Bobbi Kristina's friends and family.

Shocking! 1 year old sister strangled to death by her 2 year old brother ...photo

A 27 year old Florida mom, Kristen De Pasquale, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of her 1-year-old daughter, who police say was found with Halloween lights wrapped around her neck.
De Pasquale called 911 Thursday evening, claiming her 2-year-old son, Michael, choked his infant sister Mia Rice, to death with the string of Halloween lights while she was taking a shower in the master bathroom. She said:
"I was taking a shower and my kids were out here playing and I came out and her like, I have the Halloween lights and it was wrapped around her neck. I was gone for two seconds!”
De Pasquale said she desperately tried to revive the child but couldn't.
Police say the child was discovered in a crouched position but with her feet on the floor.
Police Sgt. Matthew DePanicis also tried to revive the infant with CPR but she was pronounced dead an hour later at the Emergency Room.

Oviedo Police detective Christopher said their suspicions began when they checked the shower floor and it was dry. The towels she claimed to have used after she got out of the bathroom was also dry, indicating she was not in the shower when baby Mia was strangled. She also had full make up on, jewelry and her feet were dirty.
In addition, the Volunsia county medical examiner in Orlando, Marie Herrman said a toddler like Michael does not have the physical strength to strangle his baby sister.
The accused mom looked dazed when she appeared in court Monday.

She said only a single word.
The judge asked her: “Do you have any questions about your appearance here today?”

“No,” she replied.

The shocked judge said: “No? Gook luck, Ma'am. I feel for you.”

De Pasquale was held without bail.
Her attorney, Tim Caudill, refused to comment on whether she was innocent or guilty.
He said:
"This is a terrible tragedy for everyone involved," Caudill told the Orlando Sentinel. "She's very upset. She lost a child, a child she loved very much."
Michael was placed in the custody of a family member. The father of the children is currently serving time in prison on unrelated charges.

The Nigerian death row convict, Chijoke Stephen Obioha was executed in Singapore early this morning after the Court of Appeal dismissed an Urgent Criminal Motion filed by his lawyer, Mr Joseph Chen, yesterday.
The Singapore Anti-Death Penalty Campaign member, Mr Ravi, who is assisting Mr Joseph with the research for the case, took to his Facebook page an hour ago to announce the news.

"This morning, at 6am, the execution of Chijioke Stephen Obioha took place. I am not even sure if his family from Nigeria were able to attend. Soon it will be all forgotten together with Chijioke’s name, but for the many of us who fight and campaign to eradicate this barbaric practice of death by hanging, and for those of us who challenge the mandatory death penalty for drug trafficking in Singapore, our work will go on. And it must."

In an update, Mr Ravi said that he is making arrangement with the Roman Catholic Prison Ministry to claim his body for proper burial today or tomorrow.

"Update: I'm currently arranging with the Roman Catholic Prison Ministry ( RCPM) to claim the body of Chijioke from the Singapore Prisons Service for a proper funeral in accordance with his religious beliefs. The funeral will take place either today or tomorrow depending on how soon the SPS could release the body.
Will keep you posted"

Chijoke was first arrested in 2007 and sentenced to the Mandatory Death Penalty in 2008 after being found guilty of trafficking more than 2kg of Cannabis. His execution tomorrow will bring and end to possibly the longest delay between sentencing and execution. Chijoke has spent almost 8 years on death row and more than 9 years behind bars.
God rest his soul and teach others a vital lesson.
