Queen Mariani Adeyemi Ogunwusi, the paternal grandmother of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, is dead.
The deceased, 104, was survived by her only surviving son, the Ooni’s father, Prince Oluropo Ogunwusi and 12 grandchildren.A statement by the Ooni’s Director of Media, Moses Olafare, said his boss’s mother died at exactly 4:30am on Tuesday in her Ile-Ife residence.
Queen Mariani, had lost her second child, Prince Isaac Olufemi Ogunwusi, and her husband, Prince Olaobaju Joseph Ogunwusi in 1995 and 1998, respectively.
