A Muslim man has said it’s OK for girls as young as 9 to get married and as long as a female has attained puberty, she’s already an adult.
The man made this statement during an argument in the middle of a street in a location believed to be in the United States. He vehemently countered arguments from others saying marrying young girls is pedophilia and said she is no longer a child if she has attained puberty.
If you sleep with a nine-year-old in this country, you’re called a pedophile.
A man is heard telling the Muslim man.
You know what, a 9-year-old girl is considered an adult if she reaches puberty… Yes, yes.
The Muslim man replied while gesticulating with his head and hands for emphasis.
He added:
Because a woman is considered an adult when she attains puberty. Whether she’s 9-years-old or 10-years-old, automatically when she attains puberty she’s now an adult.
He then went on to use prophet Muhammad as an example. He pointed out that the Islamic prophet married Aisha when she was about 7 or 6, but he consummated the marriage when she attained puberty at about 9 or 11 years.
