Actress Shan George excited as mom stands unaided for the first time in years lailasnewsNollywood actress Shan George took to her Instagram page to show off her excitement after her mom stood unaided for the first time in years.Shan George who thanked God for the testimony, wrote;
My mom stood without her hummer jeep today o. 😆😆😆😆 birthday Dance with my most precious jewel. My greatest Legend and Icon. Huurraayyyyy!! I’m a blessed human. Glory to the most high Jehovah. Jah. Allah. One God with Names . Amen.
This is coming few months after Shan George disclosed that she took her mom who had been bedridden and hospitalized for 6 years home. The University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) had been her mom’s home for many years and the aged mother was looking forward to leaving even though she would miss the place.
Shan George wrote;
This is d UCTH (university of calabar teaching hospital) where my aged ill bedridden mother has been, She is getting discharged today. Since 2011 she has been bedridden and done series of surgeries. Well, She is still in a wheelchair but we r going home. As her only child it’s been veeeeryy tough in d past 6yrs. Thank u to all my wonderful friends and family members who have helped over d years. And thank u to those who refused to help even when I came kneeling, crying and begging for their help. U made me stronger and more dependent on God. God bless our Parents.
The Nollywood actress had also revealed how her mom’s ailment inspired her latest movie ‘Grey Shadows.’ According to Shan, the movie which was recently premiered focused on how sick people are treated in the country.
“Actually, to put it in a very simple sense, it’s about the negligence of medical practitioners towards sick people generally,”
“People that are working now in the medical sector really don’t seem to bother much about sick people because I’m imagining if you were passionate about an ill person and they bring a sick person to you, you won’t first be asking for money physically.
“My mum was sick for six years. So, since 2011 till towards the end of 2017, my mum had been bedridden. I saw a lot while I was in the hospital trying to take care of my mum.
We actually went from one hospital to another to another to another.
She spent time in a lot of different hospitals. And a lot of different reasons led to her being in different hospitals in those seven years which she ended up at the Calabar Teaching Hospital finally.
And I had to also move to Calabar based on the fact that my mum was moved to Calabar by her doctor in Abuja.
They moved us to Calabar so, they we practically moved there. I mean, being that we’re also from Cross River State, it was a bit easier.
I got a lot of experiences from there. Also, other peoples’ own. And put them into make a movie.  You know how e bi na.”
