A black woman was spotted climbing up the base of the Statue of Liberty, prompting authorities to evacuate Liberty Island.
According to law enforcement, seven people who are believed to be protesters have been
arrested on Liberty Island.
The report of the woman scaling the statue came shortly after a protest group calling itself Rise and Resist dropped a banner that read "Abolish ICE" from the base of the statue.
