Anthony Joshua Triggers The ‘Rematch’ Clause

Anthony JoshuaPromoter, Eddie Hearn, has confirmed that Anthony Joshua will get the chance to retake the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles against new champion, Andy Ruiz Jr., in November or December.
He made this known in a tweet on Tuesday evening on his official Twitter handle:

"After meetings with AJ, Rob Mc and the management team in NY, we have today triggered the contracted rematch clause with Andy Ruiz Jnr. The fight will take place in Nov/Dec at a venue to be confirmed shortly."
June 2 was a day to forget for the British fighter [AJ], as Ruiz floored Joshua four times before the referee stopped the contest in the seventh round.
Joshua had his opponent on the canvas in the third round after a powerful punch. However, Ruiz rose to his feet quickly to shock Joshua with a knockdown of his own. From there on, Ruiz was on the ascendancy, landing punches after punches.
The Olympic gold medal winner never fully recovered from that point and ambled around the ring before Ruiz stopped him.
The fight was Joshua's first in the United States, as he was introduced to American fight fans at Madison Square Garden in New York, a ground known to have witnessed some of the biggest fights in the history of world boxing.
Many termed the dramatic bout as one of the greatest upsets in boxing history.
Ruiz painted his names in the hearts of the fans with that stunning win, making him one of the top guns of the heavyweight division.
Joshua appeared to underestimate his opponent and would be expected to reclaim his belts in a second contest. He seems motivated enough to gain redemption and he has over 5 months to prepare for the rematch.
The venue and exact date will be made public in the coming days when the other details of the rematch would have been finalized.
