In contrary to the campaign of calumny and falsehoods orchestrated by some politicians under the pretense of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) against the jinx breaker, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State as regards the proposed participatory management of public secondary schools initiative which was widely diffused that the State Gaffer has completed all arrangements towards selling out our schools to private individuals.
The Governor, on Sunday while featuring on a live television broadcast aired by the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) punctured the rumour renting the airwaves, just as he re-echoed that the proposed initiative would not lead to retrenchment of a single teacher; but promised to absorb more teachers.
Earlier, while featuring on a private radio station on Saturday, he maintained that the government is expected to regulate the proposed policy. " THERE will be no fee increases", Governor Ajimobi assured .
However, it is imperative to correct the erroneous impression that the proposed partnerships emerge as strictly more profitable.
Based on genuine friendship and good relationship, recently, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as part of its contribution built and donated Sets of three classrooms each with chairs and tables, blackboards and toilet facilities to some local governments in Oyo State gratuitously.
Similarly, there are alumnus that have injected millions into their various alma maters aimed at improving its standard. These are rare gestures and other organizations, including the missionaries, NGOs are ready to give back to the society if given the opportunity.
