Drunk son beats mother to coma after returning from night club

A man has been arrested for allegedly beating his mother until she fell into a coma in Nasarawa state.

Obey Samuel, 32, was arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) for beating his biological mother "without any provocation", the Commandant of NSCDC in Nasarawa, Muhammed Gidado Fari, said.

However, Samuel has denied the allegations that he beat his mother till she fell unconscious.

He said: "I did not beat her but I know that when I came back from a night club at that time I was drunk I just locked her up in her room."
