OMALICHA SPEAKS ON HER SEXUAL URGES
OMALICHA ELOM
Why did you decide to become an actress?
Ever since I was a child, I have always loved entertainment; I have always wanted to be on the screen. I imagined writing my own stories and bringing them to life, which I just did in my first movie ‘Marriage Police’.
What was your first audition experience like?
My first audition wasn’t really fun because I was a little scared.
What movies have you featured in?
I have featured in movies like Seven Books of Moses, Tears for riches, Over the edge, Supreme Sacrifice. I also featured in ‘Marriage Police’ which I produced last year December.
What is the greatest sacrifice you have made for your career?
Working without getting paid is the greatest sacrifice I have ever made for my career. Sponsoring my trips to different states to shoot without getting paid is also part of the sacrifices I have ever made.
How long did it take for you to shoot you movie?
It took me two weeks to shoot, and it wasn’t easy at all because the 2 major actors I paid tried everything possible to frustrate me. They got me upset every blessed day we were on location; they tried to pull me down. They didn’t know that God was with me even before I decided to shoot and that’s why my movie has been getting positive reviews. I get credit alerts for the movie.
What part of your body gets you the most attention?
My skin, eyes and curves gets me the most attention
Have you ever been told to offer sex in order to get a role?
Yes It has happened to me many times .I will rather pay money than offer my body to get a role. That was a long time ago. No one can try that with me anymore, because I am now a boss.

What will you love to change about Nollywood?
What I will love to change is the  way some producers ask for sex from upcoming actors in exchange for a role and not paying for roles. Every worker deserves to be paid.

What is your opinion on the prevalent baby mama trend in the Nigerian entertainment industry?
The women should be blamed for this because some of them are lazy and desperate. The men shouldn’t be blamed at all because they didn’t rape the women that want to be baby mamas neither did they tell them not to use contraceptives after unprotected sex.
