The Senegal national team have emerged as the first African nation to win a match at the ongoing World Cup tournament in Russia.
The Lions of Teranga played their first match against Poland at Spartak Stadium this
afternoon and went ahead to claim three points after a 2 - 1 victory.
Senegal were the last African nation to play in the opening games of the group stage, after Egypt, Nigeria, Morroco, and Tunisia all lost in their first respectively games.
Senegal will next face Japan in their next group stage game on Sunday.
