Nigerians react as INEC declares 2018 Osun governorship election inconclusive

Nigerian react as INEC declares 2018 Osun governorship election inconclusive lailasnewsNigerians have reacted on social media as INEC declared the 2018 Osun governorship election inconclusive.At the end of collation of results, Ademola Adeleke of the PDP won majority votes of about 254,698 while Gboyega Oyetola of the APC came a close second with 254,345 votes.

The difference between the two leading parties was just 353 votes but the number of cancelled votes was 35,498.

The returning officer then declared the election inconclusive, saying there is no clear winner due to the slim margin between Ademola Adeleke and Gboyega Oyetola.

After declaring the Osun governorship election inconclusive, the returning officer, Joseph Afuwape, said the date for the rerun will be communicated to party agents.

Though the electoral body gave reasons for declaring the election inconclusive, many Nigerians are having none of it and taken to social media to share their views.

See how Nigerian are reacting below;

@mustivic – INEC did not dissapointed. We were all expecting something like this when they delayed with Oshogbo, and also in announcing the final results. Shame on INEC!!!

@barrytrust – Inec, are you guys not through with the VAR yet? What we know is that the goal must stand. Osundecides2018

ChidiChris17 – It is very sad that each time we have an election in any part of this country, every citizen becomes INEC returning officer.
I’m not insulting anybody rather, I just want to make a common sense.

@Shawnife_ – INEC declares Osun State Governorship elections inconclusive.

They’re proving to be really incompetent and unreliable. Why can’t the right thing just be done?!

@Lamar26_ – Which one is supplementary elections to be held again 🤷‍♀️..APC x INEC finding it hard to swallow the bitter pill

@FridayGodwin4 – If only it can continue like this! a situation where the electorate choose who they want and Inec gives it to them Raw without tampering it! I see Democracy returning to Nigeria
