10 THINGS PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW ABOUT ALEX BADEH

Aside from the widely reported allegations that Alex Badeh misappropriated some funds while serving as the Chief of Defence Staff under former President Jonathan. Many do not know other things about the man.Alexander Sabundu Badeh was a Air Chief Marshal and a former Chief of Defence staff before he met the untimely death in a gunshot attack along Keffi – Abuja expressway on the 19th of December in 2018. There are many things people do not know about the man, and here are some of the facts about him.
FACT 1: Alex Sabundu Badeh was born on the 7th of November, in 1957, in a small town called Vimtim, Adamawa State. Adamawa state is also the state of origin for Former Vice President and Current PDP Presidential Candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubarka.
FACT 2: Badeh parents were peasant farmers, he had to work his way up by joining Air Force through NDA – National Defense Academy.
FACT 3: He was commissioned as a pilot officer on 3rd of July in 1979, 4 months to his 22nd birthday.
FACT 4: He was the commander of the presidential fleet during the Obasanjo presidency of 1999-2007.
FACT 5: After passing checks at the United States Secrets Service, Badeh was granted the pass to fly former American Presidents, Jimmy Carter and Bill Cinton on many occasions. He also flew Koffi Annan flew Koffi Annan, who was the former UN president who autographed him on an occasion. By 2015, he had already booked 6000hours of flight as pilot.
FACT 6: Badeh initiated various technological breakthroughs, and one of such is the initiation of OLE 1 & 2, in which GULMA 1 UAV was manufactured as the first locally produced drone in Nigeria. He also initiated the Military Radio to enable dissemination of first-hand news from the military base at Abuja.
FACT 7: As head of Defence staff, Badeh ensured that all personnel kids who are in the Air force Primary and secondary schools were getting free tuitions.
FACT 8: In October 2014, Boko Haram fighters came and attack Badeh’s hometown, burning down the hospital he built for his community and most sadly, killing his cousin, who was living next door to him.
FACT 9: Badeh retired in July 2015.
