Meet the woman who got infected with HIV by her white lover and also infected her friend...photo

This is worrisome, why should anyone do this? A Lagos lady who is into real estate has narrated how her Nigerian-based Irish lover, 64yrs old James Turner, deliberately infected her with HIV.

She said she met Mr. Turner 8 years ago in Jos, Plateau State, and alleged that he was also willfully infecting other Nigerian ladies, including her own friend.

According to her, she was living with him until she decided to investigate the drugs he usually took only to find out it was anti-retroviral.

She said: “I confronted him but he denied. He told me that the drug was for the sore on his leg. I told him that if I must believe him, he should avail me with the doctor’s phone number, but he refused. While he was sleeping, I searched the phone and I saw the doctor’s number. I called him and he said I should come to the hospital.

"There, the doctor told me that my boyfriend is HIV positive. My world crumbled, I fell down and started crying. I did the test and it was positiveAfter that, I caught him pants down, sleeping with my very good friend.

"I got angry and told him he was wicked. It was at that time that I knew he deliberately infected me, as he started insulting me. He told me that I should go to hell, that he has infected many girls and that he was just beginning. He told me that I was a fool. He told me to hang myself.

"He said he’s over 60 years and that he has lived almost his life span, but that I was still 31 and no one would marry an HIV positive person. He told me to go and report anywhere I wished as I'd be ridicule and stigmatized.

I attempted suicide, but I was rescued by my friend. He said he would finish Nigerians before he leaves the country. That's the reason I reported him to the Lagos State Police."

However, Mr Turner denied the allegation, insisting it was the lady who infected him. He was very rebellious and attacked reporters. He said: “Bullshit! The girl and others love money. They want to extort me. I am HIV positive, I know, but she infected me.

"Let her get away. I told her that we should settle the matter, but she decided to embarrass me. I won’t take it."

Police say the matter is still under investigation.

Photo of sacks of cocaine hidden in 20ft container at Tincan Port recovered by Nigeria Custom

Detectives attached to the Tincan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service impounded about eight sacks of cocaine that were hidden in a 20ft container owned by a manufacturing company, Nigerite, which came into the country from Spain.

Two persons identified as one Amata Jonah, Nigerite procurement manager and a clearing agent, have since been detained in connection with the importation of the illicit drugs.

The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Bashiru Yusuf, who made this disclosure yesterday, said the items seized did not show in the ship manifest that was presented to Custom officers at the point of examination. He said preliminary investigation showed that, though the container had in it other cargo that were declared in the ship manifest, items that were concealed in the eight black bags were not declared.

However, Mr Amata claimed Nigerite was not aware of the existence of the substance in their cargo. The NDLEA officials who performed field test on the seizure said preliminary examination confirmed that the item in the black bag was cocaine.

Wow! Doctors succesfully operate on 28-week-old fetus with heart disease while inside mother's stomach..photo

Doctors in Guangzhou Province, South China have successfully operated on a 28-week-old fetus with congenital heart disease - while in its mom’s belly.

The 39-year-old patient, whose surname is Xie, became pregnant for a second time six months ago. Twenty-one weeks later, she had an ultrasonic test which showed the fetus was suffering from arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia. The chances of survival are very low if surgery is undertaken after birth.

Xie insisted she wanted to keep the baby. And on September 22, doctors in Guangzhou conducted interventional cardiology treatment, with the help of experts from Austria. The size of the fetus’ heart was as small as an almond so the slightest movement could have resulted in damage, said Zhuang Jian, the director of Guangdong General Hospital.

Xie left the hospital four days after the successful operation. This is the first time Chinese doctors have conducted an interventional cardiology operation on a fetus’ congenital heart disease.

This African woman saved a teenager from getting stabbed by thugs in London ...photo

Two black mothers, including one with a baby intervened when thugs were about to stab a teenager in a busy shopping street. The niece and her aunt took action when two youths with huge knives chased two other boys through New Cross in south London.

The aunt picked up a cafe chair and lunged at one of the knifemen with all her strength, knocking him off balance as he was about to attack one of the boys.

Witnesses praised the two women, saying they had saved the boy's life. The aftermath was captured by BBC London, who filmed the women telling police what had happened. The niece, still carrying her baby, told officers:

"I started shouting and the next thing I saw was my auntie, who’d got one of the cafe chairs. She was trying to stop them." Her aunt added: "We just saw it like ‘this is going to be a bloodshed if we don’t get tough’. They had two massive knives.

"We just tried to prevent somebody from ending up in the hospital or in the mortuary. And as a mother I didn’t think about anything else, Ijust thought that this needed to be stopped"

Another witness, Lena Gale told the Standard : "One of the two attackers was carrying the biggest knife I have ever seen, it was huge. I told the driver to pull over and started screaming for people to help. One of the boys being chased tripped and fell over. He looked like he was done for, doubled up on the floor. They were going to kill him. But this woman stepped in and grabbed a cafe chair and hit the boy with the knife as hard as she could. The guy stopped in his tracks and ran off." When officers arrived the scene, the alleged attackers and their victims had fled. The women have been hailed as heroes by online users.

The two men I carried, robbed, the people, and killed the women,” he said.

Sad! 3-year-old baby from Nigeria among 17 people dead/mising in the Mediterranean Sea- Italian Red Cross..photo

Another tragedy struck in the Mediterranean Sea last night, October 13th. At least 17 people are considered to be dead/missing according to the 113 survivors rescued from a single rubber boat and now aboard the Phoenix, the Migrant Offshore Station (MOAS) vessel operating in partnership with the Italian Red Cross (CRI).
A 3-year-old baby from Nigeria is among those confirmed as missing. The mother, who is safe aboard the MOAS vessel, is still desperately asking for him.
“I was on the rubber boat with my son, he was crying and holding on to me. The sea was rough and the boat was taking on water. At one point some people started to panic. The next thing I knew I was pushed into the water and I lost my son in the chaos as I was trying to grab a life jacket. In a few days he would have been three years old"  the Nigerian woman recounted to the crew aboard the Phoenix while still in shock.
Among the other survivors is also a young man who recounts having boarded the migrant vessel with 5 friends, none of whom were found; while another man has told our crew that he saw a young girl of around 16 years drown before the rescue crews made it on the scene.
The Phoenix crew was alerted of the vessel in distress following a call received at 19:00 from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Rome last night. Still, it was only at 21:20 that the rubber boat was sighted thanks to the Schiebel CAMCOPTER S-100 drones on board the Phoenix. In cooperation with the other search-and-rescue NGOs in the area, a rescue operation was swiftly launched.
Thanks to the great effort from the crews of Proactiva Open Arms, Jugend Rettet, the Boat Refugee Foundation and the joint MOAS-CRI mission, the rescue operation was swiftly carried out and all the survivors quickly transferred on board the Phoenix. Following the rescue operation, a search to recover bodies was launched, however this had to be interrupted due to persistent rough weather at sea. The number of those dead/missing cannot be confirmed.
According to survivors, they departed from Sabrata in Libya at around 14:00 yesterday afternoon. At the time of rescue, many people had already been in the water for several hours. Many people now on board the Phoenix are suffering from burns on various parts of their bodies, cause by the fuel leaked from the engine. Women in particular are among those suffering from burns since, unlike the men, they couldn’t take their clothes off and as a result their burns are more grievous.
One of the women on board is in a state of shock with 36% of her body covered in first degree burns. The immediate need to have her medically evacuated is currently hampered by the adverse weather conditions.
"The presence of various search-and-rescue operations in the Mediterranean Sea will not stop deaths at sea. As already declared several times, volunteer organisations cannot replace the institutions: we want a European response to end this shameful tragedy. It is not migration that is killing people, it is the indifference of governments and the international community at large", said the national president of the Italian Red Cross, Francesco Rocca.
"Our crews are tired of witnessing yet again people dying needlessly on what continues to be the most dangerous migrant route in the world. Amongst the 17 people thought to have died last night is a child who was not yet three, and whose mother’s shock and grief at the loss of her son is yet another stark reminder of the very real human cost of this journey", says Pete Sweetnam, director of MOAS.
Concurrently, as the Phoenix sails north, the second vessel run by MOAS in partnership with CRI – Responder – is on its way to Messina with 175 migrants on board who were rescued early in the week. They are expected to arrive tomorrow morning.

8 things you must do to prosper in this Recession

Image result for images of nigerian currency

It’s no longer news that the Nigerian economy is in deep recession. What may surprise you, however, is that the recession is not the problem; our attitude to the recession is. Economies all over the world are controlled by market forces. Economies expand and then economies contract – just like the ebband flow of ocean waves. The key factor that will determine how long this recession lasts is our collective psyche as a people. While business activities may have seriously declined, the worse kind of decline is a negative attitude. Unless we change our mind-set, things may never change – even when circumstances around us improve! If you want to prosper in this recession, you must begin to see possibility where others see nothing.

Each of us has within us giant reservoirs of latent abilities, powers, talents, and strengths. One of the advantages of a recession is that it can force us to look within. Hard times don’t come to destroy us; hard times come to reinforce us! This particular season calls for you to tap into your own inner genius. What are you good at? What abilities do you have that can solve problems for others? How can you get rewarded for this ability? Money always flows in the direction of value, and if you look within, there is an abundant reserve of ability you can tap to create value for others. Now get to work!

The quality of people you hang out with determines what you attract into your life. Beware of the company oftoxic people. Some people are so negative that when they enter a lighted room the whole place suddenly becomes dim! These kinds of people will corrode your destiny. Many of us are using the recession as a reason to be grumpy and blaming our negativism on the downturn. But I disagree. We are not negative because of the downturn; we are negative because of ourselves. Pressure when applied only releases what is already within. And that’s what this recession is doing to lots of us. If you want to prosper in this recession, keep positive company.

While it’s important to be positive minded, all the positive thinking in the world without a corresponding creation of value for others will do little to change our situation. We are not rewardedfor our good intentions; we are rewarded for the value we bring to the marketplace. Small value bringssmall reward andgreat valuebegets giant reward. So how do we create more value? Become better at what you do. The more competent you become in what you do and the more people you serve by it, the greater reward you will enjoy. There is no shortcut.

If you do what everyone else is doing, you will get what everyone else is getting – and that’s notvery much. If you want to prosper in this downturn, don’t just wish for it;get to work – and be willing to go the extra mile. This will give you an edge over the lazy and the myopic. Difficult times call for extra exertion of energy, and it is the men and women who are willing to make those extra exertions that will thrive in this economy. My simple question to you is, WILL YOU?

The quality of your life cannot be better than the quality of your thought. It is not our world that shapes our thought; it is our thought that shapes our world. Do notlet this recession define you;you are superior. Butfor you to exercise yoursuperiority, you must consciously feed your mind with words of hope and faith. Go dust off all those mind-enriching books that are turning mouldy for lack of use. Anddon’t just dust them off, read them! Absorb their content and personify their message. If you want to thrive in this economy, you must wholesomely nourish your mind.

We are only defeated when we acknowledge defeat. No matter what life throws in your path in this season, refuse to be deterred. You will fail and make mistakes but don’t let that discourage you. Failure is not an enemy; it’s only a harsh teacher. Learn the lessons and move on.You are not a failure because you tried and failed; you are only a failure when you refuse to try again. Try again – and keep on tryinguntil you succeed. That’s the stuff champions are made of. You have greatness within you, and there’s no better time than now to release it!

Perhaps one of the best benefits of hard times is that it draws us closer to our Creator. Regardless of your religious conviction or affiliation, this is a good time to snuggle up to your Maker. God has not created a world in which He will be redundant or obsolete. He wants very much to be a part of our lives –if we allow him. And he is willing to help us overcome all our troubles and difficulties. Ask Him for guidance in this season, and you will be amazed at the world of abundance He may reveal to you. He is waiting for you to ask. Go on now.

See Emir of Katsina's 14 yr old wife that can't be taken away by the Kastina Emirate Council... photo

The Katsina Emirate Council on Thursday declared that the marriage between 14-year-old girl, Habiba Isa, and the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumin Usman, was irreversible.

The council said the marriage and Isa’s conversion to Islam were voluntarily and willingly entered into by the girl.

The council told officials of the Katsina State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, who visited Usman in his palace over the issue, that there was no evidence that the 14-year-old girl was forced to act against her wish.

The family of Isiyaku Tanko of Warkaza community in the  Kudun Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State on Wednesday alleged that Usman forcefully abducted their 14-year-old daughter and forced her into marrying him.

She was said to have been abducted on August 16, 2016, by one Jamilu Lawal, an aide of the emir, who worked in the palace. She was converted to Islam and held incommunicado.

Isa is expected to clock 15 years on Saturday, October 15, 2016, and would have resumed school for the new academic term, but for her abduction.

She was said to have passed her Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination and was expected to start Senior Secondary School.

The incident was blown open when the father of the victim lodged a complaint with Stefanos Foundation, a humanitarian civil rights organisation, which took over the matter.

Isa was allowed to appear before CAN officials and others in the palace on Thursday, and was asked three questions by the Kaora Katsina, Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir, on behalf of the emirate council.

She was asked whether she was forcefully converted to Islam, to which she replied no.

She was also asked whether the emirate council or any other person forced her into the marriage with the emir, to which she also answered no.

The third question was whether by the time she met her husband, she was already experiencing menstrual period, to which she answered yes.

The Kaora Katsina said, “The three questions are in line with the dictates of the Islamic religion. Since Isa has voluntarily answered the three questions in our presence, there is no going back on her marriage.”

Abdulkadir explained that in as much as the emirate council would not want to be involved in the controversy surrounding the marriage, the palace of the emir was open to all Nigerians irrespective of religion and tribe.

A letter purportedly written by Isa’s father was read to the gathering, apologising to the emirate council for any embarrassment the issue might have caused it (the council).

The CAN Chairman for Katsina State, Very Rev. Nelson Ugochukwu, however, told the emirate council that Isa’s marriage did not have the consent of her parents, who he said, were crying for justice in Abuja.

The CAN leader said the association was not in support of the marriage and her conversion to Islam.

He said, “This girl (Isa) standing before us is 14 years. She is supposed to be in school and not given out in marriage.

“We are not pleased and we demand justice. Her parents are in Abuja, crying for justice. In my religion, you cannot give out any lady in marriage without the consent of her parents. This marriage does not have the consent of this little girl’s parent. The parents are not happy with what has happened.

“As the CAN chairman in Katsina, I am the father of all Christians in the state. Our people are not happy. The parents told me that the girl is 14 years. She is supposed to be in school. I want justice to be done in this matter. I want the emirate to look into the matter. To us, the girl is still a Christian.”
