Commissioner of Police arrested with N2.7m ...

The Nigeria Police Force leadership  has said there would be no cover-up in the case of the Assistant Commissioner of Police arrested with N2.7 million bribe money.

The Head, Compliant Response Unit, CRU, Abayomi Shogunle, disclosed this in an interview with the NAN in Abuja. He said the police had taken all necessary actions provided in the Police Act and Regulations in respect of the case.
"I don’t see anybody covering up this particular case because the necessary actions needed to be taken, the normal disciplinary procedure as provided under the Police Act and Regulations are being followed.”

Shogunle, an assistant commissioner of police, said the officer in question had already been issued a query and a criminal investigation had been conducted by the X-squad.

The officer had responded to the query and had faced the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC).

Mr. Shogunle added that the FDC had made its recommendations to the Inspector-General of Police, IG, which had been forwarded to the Police Service Commission, PSC, for ratification.

“The processes needed have been done and all we are just waiting for is the recommendations of the PSC.”

It would be recalled that information about the recovery of the N2.7m bribe money from the officer in question was made known in the third quarter report of the CRU, signed by ACP Abayomi Shogunle, Head of CRU in Abuja.

Corrupt Polytechnic Lecturer is exposed...photo

It was a show of shame on those indicted by the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) in Federal Polytechnic Oko yesterday as confiscated items of Entrepreneurship were displayed in the open.

One of the Lecturers was indicted for illegally forcing his Entrepreneurship Development (EED) students to submit items ranging from 15 buckets of Paints, 15 gallons of 20 liters oil, 30 buckets of Custard etc produced by each group of 10 students and submitted to him without passing through the due process of Knowledge Acquisition.

Occasioned by this, the Students squeezed out their hard-gotten money to purchase items in Markets as to get better scores instead of bending down to learn from Professionals in the Skill acquisition center of the school. The Lecturer whose activities has gone viral on Campus act has been suspended with immediate effect by the Management while others are still facing panel.

The ACTU Chairperson, Nwobi Nnenna said the unit has bogus reports on the non-repentant and already-suspended Lecturer who forces students not only to purchase supermarket items to earn few marks but also forces them to buy his textbooks that are sold outside the bookshop for N3000.

The unit has confiscated the items through the help of an informant who led them to a building where the Lecturer stores all the items bought by the students. The ACTU Chairperson also took the Rector and his Management team to the premises where the confiscated items were kept...

When the Rector saw the numerous items allegedly submitted to the indicted Lecturer, he wept in the open. He angrily harped that students should not hesitate to report Lecturers who are involved in such a dastard act without fear.

According to Politics Ng, the Rector thanked the ACTU team for doing a wonderful job of redeeming the image of the Polytechnic from maggoty personified Teaching Staff (Lecturers).

His words: “This is still unbelievable! This is pure extortion of students in disguise. It is lamentable and unfortunate that people enjoy it when the little ones cry. The Economy is not very good and as such, students should not be made to go through all these. I built Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition Centre for the Students to be taught on how to be self-employed after their Polytechnic Education and not for criminals. Students should be taught how to produce these items and not forced to buy them outside for marks. This situation must be thoroughly dealt with.”

Omg! Man kills wife and daughter because he is unable to feed them...photo

A 40-year-old man from Okpoma village in Yala Local Government Area, Cross River State, Dominic Iyayi Ogar, has thrown his in-laws into mourning following the gruesome murder of his wife and their only daughter.

Ogar is alleged to have committed the dastardly act on October 8, 2016 in Mpape, Abuja. Sunday Sun reporter learnt from the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Mr. Mohammed Mustafa, that Ogar, who slept with his wife and their only daughter on the same bed, woke up suddenly in the middle of the night, took a knife and stabbed both of them to death, and they died instantly.

Mustafa said that Ogar then carried the corpses of the dead 27-year-old wife, Omago and the daughter, two-year-old Blessing to a nearby nursery and primary school in the area; he allegedly wrote a small note and dropped it beside the corpses and then ran off to hide in his farm.

His evil deed, however, came to light when one of his neighbours, Destiny Onwusuaka, noticed a trail of blood that led to the door of the family house.

In a chat with Sunday Sun reporter, Onwusuaka said: “It was around 7:00am when I discovered stains of blood on the floor and followed the trail to the door of Ogar. When I looked into the room, I saw a pool of blood but I didn’t see the husband or the victims.

“It was later that I saw the two corpses where the husband dropped them. I shouted and called our neighbours. We then ran to the police to report what we saw. We started searching for the husband. It took four days before we found him and arrested him in his farm on October 11, 2016.

Following the arrest of the suspect, the corpses of the deceased were moved to the mortuary of the National Hospital, Abuja.

At the Criminal Investigation Department of the FCT Police Command, where he spoke with Sunday Sun, Ogar said: “I don’t have a job, I cannot feed my family, I can only feed myself, and God should forgive me for what I have done.

“I don’t know what came to my mind; it was frustration that led me to stab my wife and only daughter to enable me survive in life.”

As it stands now, Mustafa said that Ogar’s hope of surviving in life now lies at the discretion of the court where he would soon be arraigned to answer charges.

15 yr old girl abducted and deflowered by a tricycle rider...photo

The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a tricycle rider, popularly called, "Keke Marwa", for allegedly abducting a 15 - year old girl and turning her into sex slave.

The suspect, Dada Azeez, 28,  abducted Bukunmi on October 5 while on errand for her aunt in Agege area before the RRS operatives rescued her on October 21th, 2016 from his hideout in Agege.

The alleged abduction of the girl was disclosed by her sister, Mrs Gbemisola, who stated that the girl was abducted with a sum of N58,000:00 meant for  her thrift contribution.

The suspect, after weeks of lodging in several locations to evade arrest, was eventually nabbed by the operatives at his residence at 7, Oseni Street, Danjuma Cinema area, Agege with the girl in his one room apartment.
Confessing to the crime, the suspect disclosed that he wooed the girl when she was 14 years old at her sister' shop in Agege. "We started having secret affair about a year ago. But her sister frowned at our relationship when she got to know.

Unknown to her, we were still seeing each other. In order to be having regular conversation with her, I bought a mobile phone for her and instructed her to hide it from her sister. So, whenever she intended coming to meet me, she will call and I will describe our meeting point for her".

He added "then I thought if she could elope with me that would be better for us. I started working on her psyche and deceiving her with some material things".

"I was able to perpetrate the crime when her sister sent her on errand on one Sunday afternoon. However, I didn't know she was with such amount of money. I just wanted to take her far away from her guardian for not supporting our relationship", he revealed.
Narrating her ordeal, Bukunmi noted that the suspect forcefully deflowered her, adding that, he turned her to a sex slave.
According to her," he forced himself on me the very first day I visited him at his residence. Ever since, he has been having sex with me without wearing condom.
He slept with me anywhere and even at his friends' place where he hid me for weeks. I succumbed to him because I couldn’t go back home".
She said that the suspect collected the N58,000:00 her sister gave her. "He fed me thrice a day probably from that thrift contribution money", she added.

The victim, who looked pale when he was arrested, said that, she eloped with him out of ignorance.
Also arrested along with him, was one of his friends, Wasiu Agunbiade, who aided the abduction by accommodating the suspect and the teenager in his one-room apartment in Agege.
He said that he only accommodated them for a night, adding that he never knew he abducted the little girl.
"If I had known the girl was abducted, I would have advised him to return her to her parents. I never believed he could commit such crime.

He begged me to accommodate them for one night with her in my room, stressing, “he left my place the following day to somewhere else. I regretted allowing them to pass the night in my place".
In her reaction, sister of the abducted girl, who was so elated upon seeing her niece, said that the family will take her to hospital for medical check-up.

While confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Superintendent of Police, SP Dolapo Badmus, warned parents and guardians against exposing their wards and children to social vices around their environment.
The suspect, friend and the abducted girl have been transferred to the Divisional Police Office in Agege where the case was initially reported before RRS operatives took it up and rescued the girl.

EFCC raids the home of Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia’s

Barely 72 hours after turning herself in to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Rita Ofili-Ajimogobia residence got raided by operatives of the EFCC during which ‘vital’ documents belonging to Ofili that may point to criminal breaches were allegedly retrieved.

According to Vanguard Sunday, a top operative said that bank accounts of the woman and those of her children were also taken away by the security operatives during the raid.

“A search was conducted on the residence of Justice Rita Ofili- Ajumogobia by operatives of the EFCC and the search yielded documents that would assist the commission’s investigations, including bank accounts in her name and those bearing the names of her children and property title both in Nigeria and abroad”.
The female judge had been having a running battle with the EFCC, including the claim she took shelter in a Lagos hospital, before turning in herself last Thursday. She had been accused by a litigant of corruption before the National Judicial Council, NJC, moved against her early this year but was not removed from her post.

Meanwhile, the EFCC has taken up the case to make her face prosecution for graft-related matters. It was not clear last night if the agency would charge her to court and when that would be.

Veteran actress Hilda Dokubo reveals how she became her mum's enemy at age 16...

Hilda Dokubo while ministering at a Lagos church recently explained how she lost her dad at 9 and how her life and that of her mother became miserable shortly after his death. She explained how she went through a lot and how she eventually got out of the situation. While using her life to minister she said;

“I was born with a silver spoon, but death turned me poverty-stricken after my father died when I was just 9.  I turned away from God at that point, because I felt disappointed that despite how much my father loved and served God, he still died. After my dad died, my mother completely lost her mind. .

If she were living in the US, I’m sure she would have been diagnosed as a mental case. You know, in Nigeria, we don’t consider people mad until they have started eating from dustbins. I rebelled against God at that point, and I stopped going to church at the age of 9.

However, I was a very brilliant girl, and I got admission into the university at the age of 16. I became rascally and did what girls like that do. I slept with a man, and I became pregnant. My mom was devastated and disappointed in me because of that.

I was also angry with her because ‘her God’ killed my father, and we stopped speaking to each other. One day, a man came to me and said he needed a barge. I didn’t know what it was, and he told me it was used to store oil.

I then recalled that I had once seen a barge in the compound opposite ours. I went to the neighbour and told him I needed the barge. He asked me what I needed it for, but I told him not to worry. I told them to put the barge in front of my mother’s house. .

At that point, the man who told me he needed the barge came back, and dropped sacks of money containing N2m with my mom because I was in school at that time. Two weeks later, he returned with N500,000, and I was dumbfounded. .

Before then, I had never seen N100,000 together, but there I was as a millionaire at 17, not knowing what to do with the money. I would have become a prostitute, but I became restless and challenged destiny. Your life cannot change for the better if you don’t challenge destiny. Even God challenged destiny.”

A Reverend welcomes set of triplets after 13 years of marriage ...photo

A Priest at Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Asaba, Delta state, Reverend John Ifeanyi Ezeike, welcomed a set of triplets on Wednesday October 19th, 13 years after he got married.

The excited new dad shared these photos with his babies on Social media while thanking God for the safe arrival of his babies. He wrote;

"God has shown me great favour and mercy today the 19th day of October 2016. In 2003, God led me to marry my good and humble wife, as a young graduate of Uniben, serving my NYSC, but little did we know what will befall both of us. For 13 good years we waited, we cried, we were hopeless and sometimes dejected, we had mental torture for we could not have a child in the marriage. But our faith in God kept us hoping that one day God will answer our prayer. As human we got to a stage that we felt all hope of having babies is gone, even at this stage we maintained our close walk with God that even if He did not give us any child we were ready to go childless and still serve Him so long we make heaven at last. But then it was a tortuous moment. God today in His in his faithfulness has decided to bless us with our own babies of triplet, two boys and a girl on this 19th day of October, 2016, after 13 years of waiting. Just thank this Great God for His goodness and mercy.
