THIS harrowing photo shows a grandfather wailing beside his five-year-old granddaughter's hospital bed - after learning they will die within weeks of each other.
Terminally-ill Sean Peterson, who suffers from motor neurone disease and can no longer speak, was pictured crying once he found out cancer-stricken Braylynn Lawhon's condition had deteriorated.Braylynn's mum Ally Parker who took the photo said she believes the world is a "terrible place" because she will be forced to face the overwhelming grief of losing her daughter and father in a short space of time.
Days before Christmas, Braylynn was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma - a deadly form of brain cancer which has no cure.
"Sharing a snap of happier times, Ally wrote: "These two are the strongest people I have ever known.
"We all thought that they would outlive the rest of us... and we certainly never thought that my precious little Braylynn would be the first to go.She added: "Last year was hard for us, but I can't even begin to explain how difficult this year will be and has already been.
"In a few days I will have to bury this beautiful little girl. Months, maybe even weeks, later, I will have to bury my father.
"Both of my heroes gone, within the same year. How could this happen to us? What did any of us do to deserve THIS?
"I refuse to believe that there is a reason for this. This world is a terrible place."The family from Florida were given a glimmer of hope last week after they managed to raise funds with GoFundMe, to give Braylynn the chance to try experimental Mexican treatment,USA Today reported.
But before they could take Braylynn for treatment she rapidly went downhill and doctors discovered a bleed coming from her tumour.
