Photos: Father of the Ozubulu massacre target, Bishop, laid to restThe father of Aloysius Nnamdi Ikegwuonu a.k.a Bishop, the main target of the Ozubulu Church massacre that took place in August 2017, has been buried. Late Chief Cyprian Otuadimma Ikegwuonu (Ichie Akunwafor) was buried on Friday January 12th in a special cenotaph dedicated for the victims of August 6th, 2017 church attack beside St Philip's Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu in Anambra state.

Recall that on the day of the sad incident, gunmen stormed the St Philip's Catholic Church during mass, opened fire killing 13 worshippers and injuring several others. Investigations carried out by the police indicated that the target in the attack was Bishop. It was alleged that the attack was as a result of a drug deal that went sour between Bishop and another Nigerian based in South Africa
The Catholic Diocese of Nnewi suggested that those that were killed should be buried in the piece of land adjacent to the church.The funeral was presided over by two Bishops, scores of Catholic Priests, 7 Anglican Clergies, top government officials, several Igwes and residents of the state.
