'I would love to have children': Prince Harry admits he is eager to

'I would love to have children': Prince Harry admits he is eager to start a family someday but says for now he wants to be a 'fun uncle' to Prince George and Princess Charlotte

  • The 31-year-old said he's thought in the past about starting a family but ultimately changed his mind
  • He didn't indicate whether he had those thoughts while dating ex-girlfriends Chelsy Davy or Cressida Bonas
  • Prince Harry is in Orlando for the Invictus Games, an Olympic-style competition for wounded war veterans
  • He hopes to go to Disney World, but added that fairy-tale culture makes kids disappointed to meet him because he doesn't wear a crown and cape

While these days he's still mostly content with being the 'fun uncle', Prince Harry would definitely like to have kids some day.
But when exactly 'some day' will fall is still up in the air. At 31, the single royal likely won't be starting a family in the immediate future, but he admitted that in the past, he thought seriously about making babies.
'I'd love to have children. There have been moments through life, especially when we do a tour abroad, when I think, "I'd love to have kids now."' he told People magazine in their May 16 cover story.

'I dig being around kids. I just have fun. You never know what they're going to say.'
'Lucky me, I have got a few godchildren I absolutely adore.'
Although Harry was not asked to be a godfather to either his niece or nephew - news which came as a surprise to some - he is godparent to the son of his former nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke, Fred, who is now 14.
But while he may not be a godparent to George and Charlotte, Harry admitted that he delights in playing the role of uncle - and hopes that he will continue to have a strong presence in their lives for many years to come.
'George and Charlotte will grow up and hopefully find me to be the fun uncle. I always want to be the fun uncle,' he added.
And for now, it seems, being the fun uncle is enough for him to get his kid fix.
'There's been times I've been put off having children,' he went on. 'I've got a couple of mates and being around their children brings me back down. There's no rush, we've got plenty of time.'
Plus, he added, he can always hang out with his friends' kids when he starts to feel old and out of touch — something that isn't helped much by the fact that they can now 'kick his arse' at video games.
