A 17-year-old boy, Iorzenda Agayio, who
killed his mother for allegedly making him impotent, has been
apprehended by the police in Benue State.
Speaking with PUNCH Metro after
being paraded at the state police command headquarters in Makurdi,
Agayio said he killed his mother because a herbalist told him that she
was responsible for his impotence.
He claimed that he was misled by a
friend who told him that his problem would only be solved if he killed
his mother who had been identified as the cause of his predicament.
Asked if his potency had been restored
after killing his mother, the suspect, who broke down in tears, said,
“My manhood has refused to work after I killed my mother.”
The state Police Public Relations
Officer, Moses Yamu, who paraded 17 other suspects for allegedly
committing various offences including cultism, drug trafficking and
armed robbery, said they would soon be charged to court.
“The police are also on the trail of the
kidnappers of the Vicar General of Otukpo Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr.
John Adeyi, who was abducted over a week ago. Everything possible will
be done to ensure his safe rescue,” he added.
