Residents petition for Donald Trump’s name to be removed from three New York City apartment buildings

Residents of the Trump Place apartment complex on Manhattan's Upper West Side started an online petition to have the landlord of the complexes, Equity Residential, change the name of the properties. The petition garnered almost 600 signatures and their petition was granted.

According to CNBC, residents of the three apartment complexes received a notice Tuesday from the general manager to inform them that the signs will be removed.
 A spokesperson told CNBC:
"We are currently in the process of changing the name of the buildings at 140, 160 and 180 Riverside to their street addresses."
"We are assuming a more neutral building identity that will appeal to all current and future residents."

The Trump Place signs were later seen being removed.
