Two suspects who printed fake vehicle number plates and registration documents caught ..photo

Two suspected printers of fake vehicle number plates and registration documents, Isiaka Adegbesin, 38, and Mrs Ogunleye Olushola, 42, have been detained by the Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters.

The suspects were said to be living in Itoshi area of Ogun State. Investigation revealed that they forged different documents, including National Certificate of Road Worthiness, police diary extract, Proof of Ownership Certificate, seal, stamps, among others. Some of the documents were also recovered when the operatives, based on a tip-off, swooped on them and arrested them in the act, while other gang members escaped.

In a related development, two alleged truck hijackers, Uche Dike, a 43-year-old man from Imo State, and Salisu Ibrahim, 31, from Katsina, have also been arrested.

Vanguard gathered that Dike and Ibrahim were among a gang of seven notorious for hijacking trucks plying Oshodi-Isolo areas of Lagos. They were arrested by the Zonal Intervention Squad with a truck conveying imported doors. Three of the seven-man gang, who disguised as soldiers with fake army uniforms, were among the five suspects that escaped.
