Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has become the new Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum.
The former minister and close ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, was elected in Abuja in readiness of the May 29 inauguration of a new set of governors under the second term of the Buhari’s administration.
Fayemi will now replace the outgoing chiairman of the forum, Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari.
Earlier on, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State cautioned on the rotational arrangement the forum is known for.
However, Dickson was not a contestant as his tenure expires next December as governor of the oil rich riverine state.
