Kogi state govt destroys house owned by kidnapping ring leader

The Kogi state government today ordered the destruction of a one-storey building owned by one Alhaji Tijanni Bakare, a self confessed kidnapping syndicate ringleader. Bakare who was recently apprehended by the police, confessed to being the ring leader of a gang that has terrorised residents of Kogi state and travelers along the state roads. 

The police raided the house after his confession and discovered IEDs, guns and ammunition.


The demolition of the house is backed by the state's Anti Kidnapping, Robbery and Terrorism Law passed by the State House of Assembly and assented to by the Former state governor, Idris Wada.
